Count me in
This is one item I've been waiting for. The OEM leather covered downtubes are nice but I don't want to bother with removing the existing downtubes. I've been looking at the stick-on pad for the driver's leg but I don't want anything that sticks out that far and I'd prefer the look of the entire tube covered. I have the OEM ('06) cupholder and as mentioned previously, poking a few holes through the leather sounds like an easy mount job.

I'm confused a bit here - you will have to remove the existing downtubes to install our leather covers on them... Or am I missing something here?

For anyone with concerns about the factory cup holder, I strongly reccommend a cup holder from minifini (several NAM vendors sell them). It is a much better design that can be placed much more out of the way. And you won't have a big silver piece covering your leather. Here is mine:

The factory JCW downtubes has the leather pre-applied (glued) to a new set of downtubes. Therefore, the existing downtubes must be removed. That is what he was talking aout.

RedlineGoods,
I am interested in these down tube covers.... Engineer's don't make the best artists (me at least) so I'd need some design help. I have a Liquid Yellow / white roof and mirror caps. Dash / trim is yellow and seats / floor are black. Black and Yellow design would be sweet, even white thrown in, colored stiching... I'm all about it, maybe even the Dinan Logo sewn in? Let me know if you guys are up for the task, I'm sure we can throw together a design.
How do these install? Stick-on?
Also - I'd probably buy the shifter and e-brake boot from you guys if this looks sweet.

Well, he mentioned that the first generation had velcro but that the new generation has ELASTIC, which makes me think that you pull the top end of the down tube out of the dash and then slip the covers over the tube. Sort of, you know, like a Jimmy Hat for your "down tubes".
Mmmm... Is it hot in here, or is it just me? MrrrAWR!
PS - black with gray piping would also be nice.

Misunderstanding
Sorry , my bad. I was under the impression that these leather covers could be installed without removing the downtubes.

Hi everyone,
I have PMed all those who were the first to post/PM/email us and had color choices that meet our criteria for the betatesting.
For all others that have replied in this thread, I'd like to offer you the following deal.
The downtubes will be $100 retail. Those who posted here, I'd like to offer you a 15% discount from that price for early buy-in. To take advantage of that offer, please PayPal $85 to PayPal@redlinegoods.com and describe the order (item and colors).
The items will be delivered once the betatesters confirm the fitment is correct and poses no install problems.
Thank you everyone for your interest in our project.
