Does noone make a GP type rear spoiler?

Wonder how long before an aftermarket company makes a GP type rear wing for the regular S...i'm really diggin it, but i hear the whole setup will not bolt into an S due to a completelly different hatch, third brake light, etc.

If someone made one to fit the S i'd buy one.

You can buy a Fireballed Carbon Rear Spolier it looks really nice, almost the same as the GP one.

Ask Tuls before you do anything...as he always seems one step ahead.

This is sweet...

...it doesn't block the third brake light either.

Its actually slighly higher than on a Gp I may do something with the top of the hatch and use the place in the glass for the rear brake light. still not decided yet.

A couple more things to do and I will be rocking that car again! I cant wait!!

That is a real GP wing...you dont want to know what you have to do to get one and how much $$ it actually cost.

I think Gabe was saying the actual GP wing is around $2000.

I would be happy with a clone of the GP wing, but I want it in Laquered Carbon

More!

Center section is $850, each end cap is $850, then the glass $240 and you need the brackets to mount the end caps. then there is the install. and if you want to do it complete you need interior trim and few parts for the brake light and the brake light cover...then you need to innstall it and wire the rear light.

$3000 easy!

You're only supposed to be able to order GP parts if you have a GP VIN number.... So, short of people making copies in the aftermarket space, you'll have to pay whatever the re-seller is charging.

Personally, I think the GP wing looked LOTS better before I actually saw it on a moving car... Standing still the wing looks cool enough, but it sort of looks like a cross-section of a cereal box when the car is in motion (IMHO). Be sure you watch some vids of the GP in motion or even better watch an actual car drive by a few times before shelling out all that cash.

I think you're just jealous it's a no-go on the cabrio.

I hated the wing when I first saw the pics.

I then took a good look at a GP for sale in a dealer and decided that it was pretty nice.

Last week I followed a GP for a few miles on the freeway and managed to see it from a lot of different angles.

I want the wing !

But not $3K badly

Well, it's true that I wish I had the option on the rag top, sure, but even if I had a hard top the GP wing wouldn't be what I'd put on, personally...

To be honest, I wasn't too crazy about it at first. I've since then been able to check it out up close and personal, and think it's pretty cool. I would rather have a modified one that would direct a constant flow of air over the boot.

The GP spoiler just looks fast, even standing still.

What would that look like, do you think?

I agree 100%... the problem is that when the car ISN'T standing still, I think it looks... different. Blocky. But I'm sure they look like they do because they PERFORM in an air stream. Just in my opinion of course - MINIs are all about "You-ification".
