Those DO look interesting (although since they're EL does thart mean that they're geeen/blue)? I've had the gauges open several times now and I'm not sure where those ribbon connections would hook up, either. The colored "bands" don't do much for me, but the all-black (or are they gray?) are pretty nice. Not quite as understated as the Outmotoring ones and a bit "busy" but still quite nice.

And i dont know much information about them. Color-wise EL could be any color....from wikipedia "In principle, EL lamps can be made in any color but the greenish color most commonly used matches well with the peak sensitivity of human vision so it produces the greatest apparent light output for the least electrical power input."
Just thought I'd post them cause i think EL gauges could be cool and since these companies both have the designs down, sending them to an EL company would be simple
here is just an example of a company that makes custom EL displays (in different colors): http://www.lasermate.com/ELproducts.htm They arent the best, but www.beingseen.com isnt working right now

We considered doing EL's for about 1.5 seconds but decided not to go that route because they wear out fairly quickly....

Well, you'd still need LEDs for the needles and indicator lights, and the LCD readouts. Which, provided with your own dimmer, you'd have two brightnesses, the LEDs, controled by the button, and then the faces, controlled by the dimmer.
Also, a direct import wouldn't work, since our indicator lights are in different positions!
However, neat design, and I like the 'pinhole' look ot the indicator lights. Neat take on it.
Looking really closely, they may just be fitting over the existing faces, it looks like there are 'lines' in a few of the pinhole lights, which would be the indications on the original faces underneath.
