Checkered roof graphics question

I'm still trying to decide what stripes/etc I want to do on my new car, and this weekend I had an idea....which led to a question.

I have a DS/B with moonroof. If I had a pure silver checkered roof graphic applied (to give a black and silver checkered pattern) what would it look like from INSIDE the car? Would I see the checkered pattern, or just a dimpled 'film'?

I'm assuming, at this point, that I can have the graphic made and 'split' so that it looks more or less continuous, but the moonroof can still be opened. Correct?

I don't know how it will look from the inside but as long as you order a graphic made for a top w/a sunroof you will be able to open it

Yeah, ordering one made for a non-sunroof car might be a problem!

Yes, you can open the moonroof with a properly made graphic. Yes, you can see the pattern from inside the moonroof, along with the dimples.

I actually got rid of my perforated graphic and went with a solid one over the moonroof--it looks much nicer both inside and out (no dimples). It doesn't let in nearly as much light as the perforated graphic, but it still looks great in the daytime and lets in enough light that I'm happy with it.

On other thing--if you're going with a graphic for the roof and the sunroof, wether it be perforated or nonperforated, get it professionally installed.

I have also heard that the perforated roof graphics are not as durable as the non-perf'd

cct1 - thanks. I would have it installed professionally - no sense messing something like that up!

so if I wanted black/silver checks, would the graphic actually be both black and silver, or would it use the black from the roof, and be 'clear' in those places?

If it's done properly, it's going to be black and silver (There are several vendors who can do it for you--aesthetic creations or cooperflags, to name a couple). Using clear over your black roof, and silver for the silver checks won't work, it'll show every imperfection known to man on the clear part. These graphics come in solid pieces; it's no big deal to do black and silver, and it'll look great. Make sure to post it when you get it applied!!

thanks. I'll definitely get pictures up when we do it. My wife is trying to get me to wait until after the Dragon this year so I can check out cars and try to get other ideas, which isn't really a bad thing.

Plus, it is way too cold here right now to get the car that clean!

I've had 4 different sunroof flags and have none now. The perforated one lasted a year, which is longer than the others did.
