Interior/Exterior Checkered roof graphics question

Checkered roof graphics question
I'm still trying to decide what stripes/etc I want to do on my new car, and this weekend I had an idea....which led to a question.
I have a DS/B with moonroof. If I had a pure silver checkered roof graphic applied (to give a black and silver checkered pattern) what would it look like from INSIDE the car? Would I see the checkered pattern, or just a dimpled 'film'?
I'm assuming, at this point, that I can have the graphic made and 'split' so that it looks more or less continuous, but the moonroof can still be opened. Correct?

Yes, you can open the moonroof with a properly made graphic. Yes, you can see the pattern from inside the moonroof, along with the dimples.
I actually got rid of my perforated graphic and went with a solid one over the moonroof--it looks much nicer both inside and out (no dimples). It doesn't let in nearly as much light as the perforated graphic, but it still looks great in the daytime and lets in enough light that I'm happy with it.
On other thing--if you're going with a graphic for the roof and the sunroof, wether it be perforated or nonperforated, get it professionally installed.

If it's done properly, it's going to be black and silver (There are several vendors who can do it for you--aesthetic creations or cooperflags, to name a couple). Using clear over your black roof, and silver for the silver checks won't work, it'll show every imperfection known to man on the clear part. These graphics come in solid pieces; it's no big deal to do black and silver, and it'll look great. Make sure to post it when you get it applied!!
