Call me crazy, but I had to try something!

After two windshields, in 3500 miles on my '06 MCS , I had to try something! After doing all my research on a process called Diamond-Fusion, I took the plunge, paid the bucks and had it put on today. It turns out the very nice lady that owns the company in Sterling, VA is Crystal Waddy, a former employee of Mini of Sterling. She is a serious car fanatic and super nice person.

The windshield coating is warranted for 4 year and offers umlimited replacement if the windshield is cracked. She (Crystal) stated there will never be sandblasting again from small road debries. Large rocks will still probably crack it, but they state it make the glass 10 times stronger. The Sterling Toyota dealer does about 40 a month, and the local Banner Glass Co. in Sterling said they have only had to replace one under the contract agreement and it was free to the owner and then recoated.

If you want to read about it go to www.Diamond-Fusionusa.com. I hope I didn't just buy a bridge in AZ : , but Crystall stands behind it and if it fails I get a new windshield, so what the heck why not try. Hey and they even detailed my car before I left

I'll keep you all posted.

I love the videos on their site . It looks pretty cool though. How much did they charge for an application.

How Much..

Call them at (Sterling branch) 703 421 1975 and check. I believe it may depend on the condition of the glass, (not sure on that) but mine was darn near new so no chips that may crack at a later date that they would have to cover with new glass.

Crystal is real good to talk to and tell her you read this on NAM, she might give you a break, (pun intended)

I agree

I agree with the rain-ex and insurance statement, however, everytime you have your windshield replaced you run the risk of parts being broken, flying off later because of improper installation, improper sealing, paint scratched, etc... If I can do anything to avoid any of those hassles, I'll try it.
