Thoughts on trim color

Here is what my car looks like today. At AMVIV I will be getting white stripes on the boot and the lower door panels, and Hyper Blue roof stripes. My plan was to replace my hood scoop with a white one. However, I learned that the white sidestripes will have a touch of Chili red in them (The "S" in COOPER S). So, I was thinking, instead of a white hood scoop, how would a Chili Red hood scoop look with matching red mirror caps?

Thoughts?

(PS, red and blue are my college colors and a favorite of mine...but not at the risk of an ugly car )

I think it will look good, but I'm biased because I'm doing almost the exact same thing

I vote "no" on the red hood scoop.

On the mirrors, instead of red ones, I say keep them white but paint a matching red "S" on each of them. If you're not creatively inclined, have Aesthetic Creations or one of the other vendors create a vinyl S you can apply to the caps.

You want to go a step further, have some custom made wheel center caps with the same red "S" on them.

Damn, makes me want to get another MINI just so I can start all over again.

Already have the scoop (or rather I've committed to buying one already). Just trying to decide red or white...

And gotta admit I love the GP red mirror look.

I think they already have "S" center wheel something or anothers at Aesthetic Creations (or I know I have seen them somewhere) because I was thinking of getting some checkered ones

Yeah, or these

but I actually want them to be plain checker, no "S" or wings because I hate it when they all get to facing different directions

I thought it would drive me nuts, too, with the wings not all lined up when you stop. But I'm actually okay with it. <<breaks out in hives>>

Try photoshop. The cheapest way to do almost anything and see how it looks. I'd go for the red scoop. I can't stand a white scoop on a MINI.

If you go with red caps and a hood scoop, a thin red pinstripe on either side of the white bonnet stripes would tie the red in nicely, while still being subtle. Also, I would paint the rear hatch handle red to balance the color in the front, middle and rear of your MINI. AND if you do all that you need to paint the calipers red!

I'll vote no to the red and yes to the white....not sure why...just doesn't seem right.

Been trying. Don't have the skills. Have spent the last 5 hours chatting with experts on line who were trying to help, but they were over my head at every turn. Me, I was like a pig looking at a wristwatch...

I'm so frustrated right now my stomach is in knots...I need a patient Photoshop expert to help me...

You would def have to lose your white bonnet stripes to do it & I still think you need more red to make it look like it belongs (MBE a roof decal that has some, but not a lot, of red might bring it in)

Red white and blue, huh? If nothing it would certainly be...

... patriotic. In the United States, that is.

Well I guess in the UK as well. And France.

The Netherlands, too. Along with Russia. And Cuba.

Not to mention Puerto Rico and...

To me (& remember you asked for my very valuable 2¢ ) I think the white bonnet stripes make the red hood scoop look really out of place. They would look fine w/a white hood scoop but having them w/the red kinda looks like you had a wreck & the body shop hasn't finished painting everything yet. They make the red look like it doesn't belong
