Perhaps the most daring MOD... ever! "Soopahcharged!" (with PICS!)
Ironically, I've wanted to do this "MOD" (and I use the term loosely) literally since my first dsy on the forums. Someone used to have a picture of something like this as their sig image, and I always liked it.
Problem was the badge... There were a few OEM ones for Pontiacs and such, but they were like $20-$40 APEICE and were quite large.
Then I found www.autobadges.com - nice-looking badges at only $10 apeice and small enough to be viable - only like 3.5" . Perfect!
I liked them so much I even put one right on my supercharger... you know, in case someone wondered what that "radiator-looking thingamabob wuz" (actual quote I received one day while cleaning my engine bay at a coin-op place:
YES... I know my engine is filthy... it's been slushy, cut me some slack.
Best of all, the merchant is of the quality we've come to expect here - one of the badges arrived with a tiny bit of the silver coating missing (I didn't even notice until I was installing it) and they immediately sent me a replacment at no additional cost. I personally will not do repeat business with or recommend a non-NAM merchant here unless I'm very satisfied with their customer service, and these guys impressed me.
They even do custom badges for clubs or other groups, and given the quality of the final product I received, I'd definitely start with autobadges.com for any custom work. Maybe we should consider a nice Dragon 2007 badge... hmmmmm... I love it when the product you unpack from the box actually looks BETTER than the photo on the vendor's web site!

But why'd you tip your playing cards? I'd much rather everyone think its a puny N/A 4 banger until they hear the war cry down the back strech

Then again, I may be a bit biased, since I took the same approach, but used a Mercedes Benz "KOMPRESSOR" badge on my car. They use these badges on their supercharged cars. I liked how it was exactly the same width as my side vent, and looked almost OEM.
I realize it is virtually blasphemy to have a Mercedes Benz badge on my BMW-built MINI, but guess what, I don't care. I think it looks cool.

in all honesty rice usually something cheesy. is it cheesy to stick on a "supercharged" emblem from an oldsmobile or whatever car? well, it's as opinionated as what is deemed ricey... </rant>
sorry, im just a little tired of the term... im not attacking you or calling you out, jonnieoh... just ranting off.

I was actually responding to chrisneal's post (number 10), where he posted a picture of a bowl of rice.
I think that term is derogatory, and way over-used these days. If anything, I'm a proponant of people being able to "you-ify" their MINI's. It makes them unique, and it is always fun to see a car that has no match anywhere in the world.
So in short, I agree with you, glnr13.

I was wondering how many posts it would take until someone said "Duuuh - that's not your supercharger"... Thanks for not dissapoining me. Same thing goes for the "ricer" comment. Whatever. Diff'rnt strokes and all that... Anyone that doesn't like it can kiss my grits. Nooch!
Actually, there's something ELSE that I was sure someone would say by now... Let's see how many threads go past until someone says it...
