Gulf coloured MINI

Maybe this is a horrible idea but I'm curious what it would look like. I'm curious has anyone seen, or could anyone photoshop, a MINI in Gulf Oil racing colours (Orange and light blue)?

A few concept drawings...

...and a real life Gulf-inspired MCS that belongs to a friend in Germany...

sorry, I don't think it 'works' even on a 911, much less a BMW interpretation of a British classic.

Amazing work, as always. They remind me of the Renault R5 turbo.

Meh. Does nothing for me, but what matters is if YOU like it. IMHO the gray/silver version is more attractive than the blue/orange, for whatever that's worth.

I agree with ImagoX. The powder blue and orange color scheme never did a thing for me. Of the ones Cooperation did I like the Group 44, the Martini, and the West versions best.

I knda like the John Player Special one. And I'm not sure about the Gulf scheme on a MINI, but I like it as a general concept.

Cooperation - how about a MINI in the white/red, blue, light blue BMW M/CSL scheme?

Yeah, the JPS one is spectacular, but with that crazy (good) bodywork, almost anything would look great. How about a new-look McLaren all chromy and orange swooshy and nice?

If I were considering it, I'd get myself a LARGE scale model, like one of the 1/10th RC cars, and paint that first. Easy to remask and try some different versions. I think a large part of the success or not would be on where the break between blue and orange was. So it would complement and look good on the MINI.

I.E. I like how Cooperation ran the orange along the rockers, looks better to me than the photo of a real MINI with the black rockers.

There may be larger versions somewhere, or higher-resolution versions, but that quality work is unsurpassed!

(I know, play on words, I'm going back to work now).

COOPERnation,

Those MINIs are excellent peices of art. Thanks so much for making them available to us all. With your permission, I would like to make those into some icons for use on my Mac. Is that ok with you?

I wasn't planning to do it to my car, I love how she looks in Space Blue. It was more out of morbid curiosity after seeing the similarly painted Audi TT. I guess it doesn't hurt that LeMans is one of my favourite movies.

Cooperation, those images are awsome. Makes me wonder how long until someone comes out with replacement wide-body fenders for our cars.

Haha - yes, almost too much.

650hp of Big Block Chev goodness, Kevlar body - weighs around 1100kgs, I have hit around 190mph in it on a race track of course.

There is a nice one on an issue of Go MINI, forgot which one. It is a Cooper though not MCS, but it is sweet.

I am trying to convince my wife that her car needs stripes - but have had no luck. Her Car is eclectric blue with a black roof.
