Interior/Exterior Underbody Neon Lighting

neon looks good, i dont know why everyone is so against it
why can some hot rods have completely tasteless neon in their engine bays while we cant have tastefully done neon under the car?
i mean, ive seen some pretty stupid looking newon on some really nice cars, ont he other hand, ive seen total POS's with a nery nice neon setup, both showing the obvious time spent (or lack therof) installing them.

I got a say, though, that I saw a Mini recently that had two purple lights up around the windshield washer jets on the bonnet, very small but definitely purple and facing forward - and I thought it looked great.
Maybe there is something subtle to be done with accent lighting that would be more interesting than a full blown neon glow off the bottom.

I don't mind neons at all if done properly. It's a dramatic cosmetic
change so it has to be done very carefully, very high risk to mess up...
it's like someone not knowing much about cars getting 18" wheels...
some have huge wheel gaps with the fender and some have huge
gap between the rim and rotor..but they don't see that part and
think it's hot and go out driving like that while car guys like us look
at it and say... wtf did you do to your car?!
Basically if you don't know what you're doing, don't attempt.
stock is safe.

might be better to wire that up to the bottom of the inside door
panels instead of under the side skirts so that it is not exposed to
weather, and will illuminate with how wide the door is opened for
better function.

i think my sentence was not clear on my post. what I meant was that
since the illumination is from the door, you should get better functional
illumination instead of just illuminating below the skirts.
you would have to put a variable detection switch if you want to
intensify the illumiation as the door opens wider...which can be done
but not sure if it's worth it.

Has anyone seen that graphic and could they direct me to it?

i'm working on glowing the scoop area now, i need to mill a piece of clear plastic to put inside the top of the scoop so is spreads light evenley with only 2 LED's. if you expose the LED's, you see them in the reflection on the scoop and it looks funny....
