My 'CVT' Shift Boot :)

Well, I got tired of looking at the stupid P/R/D/N/-M/S+ thing, so I swapped it.

Almost looks like a manual now, Jeremy. But why didn't you have Redline make you a BRG/W boot ? That would peg the Cool-o-Meter !

Now... don't forget the shift pattern and try to back out of a parking space while you're in "D". Your insurance premiums are already high enough.

Ps. Yep, clean up that interior ! You can't belong to the OCD club if you run around like that.

Heh, I didnt want to go custom from redline without knowing for sure it would fit. I probably will have them make me something after court and all that jazz. And as far as cleaning and OCD, im OCD about my paint, not my inside. I only worry about what others see as I pass them

That's wise, Jeremy. Who knows what the court is going to assess you ? And those Redline boots are very nice, but not cheap.

Okay, being half an OCDer is better than none at all.

I kinda want to figure out how to make a custom shift thing for mine that says "M-I-N-I" instead of PRND. I was thinking ROFL, OMGZ, or LMAO might be good choices too.

Well, I'd say, take it apart so you can get a good look. It only takes to pulls, and 2 screws. and putting it back together is just as easy. looking at it now...i think it might be a tough task to keep it back-lit at the same time. Maybe perforated vynal to cover that section of the shift ring (it pops out)?

Thanks Cube, for the compliment and sweet deal on it . I must say, it gives the interior a much nicer 'feel' now. Makes me feel like I'm more-so in the full spirit of motoring .

Bringing a post back from the dead...

Jeremy, did you get a manual shift boot? Or just swap out the ring? Or what?

*so confused* :impatient

Answered in PM, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to post it as well, maybe someone else will be thinking the same thing down the road.

Yes it is the shift boot off of a manual, but the rings are interchangable (atleast the CVT ring can work for a manual, I don't know if the manuals have the same black inner ring {where the boot connects to the ring} as the CVT) The PRND(SD) thing pops right out, and with 2 screws the wiring comes out also, where I then tucked it down under the center console.
