It's for a 2009 JCW. My guesstimate is $2000 for rods and pistons. $500-600 for valve springs, retainers, shipping. $500-800 to bore & hone the block, polish the crank, balance rods/pistons/crank. $600-$800 valve job, polish, & port the head. $ 500-1000 for gaskets, bolts, eng bearings, etc. And another $500 for misc bs. Plus the locking diff & new clutch. It adds up quick.

They are the rubber p.o.s. that mini put on your front a arms. It is the bushings that sets at the back of the arm, a big round thing pressed into a pace of cast iron. over time they were out and couse changes in your alinement. Since you are tear down the front end I would recommend replacing them, with a poly bushing.

When you're done with this, can you post a list of links of all the parts you got? And possibly links too?

Thanks-I'll check them. You may not believe this but I don't have any of the front suspension apart. To get the haveshafts out I just removed the ball joint nuts (30 seconds) and thats it. The engine comes out the front.

Really nothing new. Still waiting on pistons and rods from ABF. All the lower end work is at a stand still until then. I sent the head to Supertech. They have to design springs and retainers. That's gonna take 4 months so I'll use the stock hardware for now. Once I get head back I'll send it to the machine shop.

I was hoping to have it running by the end of Aug. That won't happen unless I get the pistons and rods in the next week. Also got in on the Group Buy for the Auqamist HFS-3.

Wow 4 months for simple single beehive springs/retainers, I bet your fed up with that time schedule!

What are Supertech playing at, are they using a snail to measure the camshafts, for their spring calculations ?

When I bought the cam for my Suzuki motor build, it took 6 months for the UPS gut to bring it to me. talk about a long wait.

I think they are going to gear up for mass production. If anything I might find out at what rpm the stock valvetrain floats at.

4 months is a long time, even when going into mass production, when I went through the process of a bespoke spring, retainer, seat seal and collet locks, for my project, we had the spring from design to physical component in 9 days.

How are you going to know at what RPM you get valve float ? Have you a test rig, or access to a test rig ?

You should give some thought to tuning it for E85

Just a little chime in here, E-GAS is no joke! R56 injectors are still a mystery as far as I know, And you WILL push the factory ones WELL past their duty cycle!

For instance; My R53 came stock with 340cc/Min injectors, at my altitude and last mods I had with them in I was at 80% DUTY CYCLE, I upgraded to the 550cc/Min injectors from MYNES (RMW shows the same part # now) my duty cycle went below 60%. Then I switched to E85, as of the other day when my MAIN/ROD (More than likely Rod bearings) shat-the-bed my duty cycle was almost 90%.

If you found injectors that WILL support the application please let me know!

What's mysterious about the N14 fuel injector ?

I have been running these, for almost 2 years in my race engines, and they deliver twice the flow volume of the stock OEM fuel injector, however they are very expensive.

Wow. Tell me about this injector. It looks like an R56 DI?? Or is it double flow rate. If so where do I get it? How much? I'm gonna need it soon.

Thanks

Sadly this is not something you can buy off the shelf, they are bespoke hand built fuel injectors, produced to deliver any amount of fuel flow and working pressure that your project needs!

It is identical to the stock OEM N14 fuel injector, downside is the cost, if you only want 4 and you probably do, they will cost $1400.00 each, the more you require, the less they cost!

Yes you've read that right, that's $1400.00 each individual fuel injector

I can supply you with a set, if you so wish, as I had a batch made for my project/s.

You say your going to need these soon, let me have your full engine flow calculations, and I will tell you, "IF" your going to need more fuel delivery flow, than the stock OEM fuel injector/s can deliver.

Again it's not just a simple case of swapping fuel injectors, you'll need a matched fuel rail/and pressure sensor too, consideration for the tank delivery pump needs to be addressed, and the HPFP!

If I can be of further assistance, don't hesitate to ask questions, your heading into deep technical water.

That injector looks like a laser gatling gun that should be hanging under the wing of some fighter craft.

So what was cost of the pistons? Where can I get a set?

I am interesting in the rods and pistons for sure. I would love to forge my block.

Also, what turbo are you going to run? Cause at 9k rpm.. all the oem options are going to be out of breath by about 6500rpm..
