JCW aero kit install (not a DIY)
I just got my aero kit in. I was just going to post for people that are looking at adding this to their car. My car came with the Black Band aero package. Why they call it that i will never know the fenders color match the body of the car. I dont want to do this as a DIY since I have never done this and dont know how this going to turn out. BUt i will post some pics in here so you can see the progress. Just a little background first I just bought this car used with 5,000 miles on it its a 2010 JCW. The parts i ordered from Dallas MINI. With shipping and everything it cost me $2070 (shipping and all) I had to order the black fender wells as well or it wouldnt be that much. They no longer offer painted ones so this one is only primed. We got the box in today and opened it all up and checked out the parts we are going to try to pick up the paint Wednesday and paint on Thursday....wish me luck.

MINI calls it a diffuser. Many paint it body color. A few paint it black. When I ordered the JCW aero kit I had the dealer order the CF diffuser as well.
Before:
After with the CF diffuser:
Still the CF diffuser but it looks like its a gloss black in this pic. So this may give you an idea of what the aero kit looks like with a gloss black diffuser.

Ok not sure if anyone is watching this thread or not but here goes.
Yesterday we got all the parts out that needed to be painted oh by the way auto paint is high. I spent nearly $200 on just the paint and the adhesive for the bumper. We were not sure if we really needed the adhesive but we got it anyway. Better safe than sorry!
We got all the parts painted so it looks like Saturday afternoon me and a buddy of mine are going to tear it down and put it all back on. If anyone else has done this how long did it take you to take off and put back on the car?
Here are some pics as promised.

I need to explain the pictures. The first picture of the is the parts and how they came from the factory after we had "roughed them up" getting them ready to paint. The middle or second picture is after the paint but before the clear coat. The last picture is after the clear coat. Look at the difference!!! Hey fish check out the gloss black diffuser. I am so glad I decided to go gloss black on that. I think that it is really going to look sharp once it is on the car. By the way I am going to put stripes on the car after I get this done.

I, with the help of some local MINI club colleagues, added the brake duct kit to my 2009 JCW's body kit that came without it. Not a hard job per se, but labor intensive, I swear there must have been 20 or more fasteners holding the front bumper and grill on. Everytime you thought you got them all and started pulling on it, you'd find something else still holding it on. I'm sure the rear bumper will be similar, not sure how hard the side sills will be.

I am hoping by having the new part next to me I will be able to see where all the fasteners are located. Wish me luck!!

The story continues..... So Friday night was my 25th class reunion so needless to say it was a late night and early morning. I live in the far reaches of west Texas. It has been over 100 here for the last 60 days and we are in the depths of a horrible drought. Saturday morning I wake up and its raining not just a little rain I mean we got 4 inches of rain. But that did little to deter me. I got to my buddies shop and we stated tearing it down. I would consider myself a handy guy but I have never done any kind of body work in my life. With my buddy helping it took us about 5 hours to get it off and everything back on. Something about having the aero package on there just makes it seem like it drives faster and better. But really this wasnt a hard install at all just time consuming. If you are thinking about doing this give it a shot it saved me about $1,000 from having a shop do it and it really wasnt that hard.
