Wow, the vastness of age is soo cool, I'm at the prime age of 41 and truly find this mini as a seriously fun and so very capable car that defys logic with great fuel efficiency + huge fun factor, my 2nd choice of cars when looking was the 335d which is equally rewarding and has its own fun factor and may still make it into the stable sooner than later.... What surprises me is my car is similar to mpg as my motorcycle since both get driven faster than suggested, especially when curves are ahead.
I could only dream of such a nice 1st or 2nd car as a Mini Cooper, my 1st car was a 1964 Rambler 3sp on the tree, the quietest idling engine I ever owned that flat 6 was silky smooth, what times we have in our 1st cars, makes me laugh just thinking of those days, not that I'm old like I said, I'm forever a kid, just not collecting speeding tickets as I used to decades ago... And so many cars and motorbikes ago..

We may just have to meet up and shoot the breeze over coffee while finding some more roads to enjoy our cars on! and I have a few Awesome roads near Fairfield leading toward the Lake!

Well, I've done the drive starting in Winters at the Chevron on 128, left on the 121 then right on the 29 then back on the 128 with my S2000 friends many times - that's a great drive.

I'm 51. I've had my 2011 JCW for just over a year now. This is my first MINI, and I bought it last year not long after I turned 50. I wasn't planning to buy a JCW, but when it was still on the lot 3 months after I started looking at MINIs, I made a low but reasonable offer and only had to come up a couple hundred to get the deal.
This is by far the most fun car I have ever had. My two "fun" cars prior to the JCW were an 04 GTO and an 02 S2000. The MINI beats the heck out of both of those cars in almost every way. The S2000 was definitely more fun than the GTO, but it felt a bit claustrophobic and the noise and harshness got old very quickly for an everyday car. The torque and HP were the only fun things about the GTO. It handled OK for a fairly big and heavy car, but it wasn't anything special. Now, after having it for almost 14 months, the JCW still puts a grin on my face every time I drive it.

Oh yes very nice, it is a very enjoyable stretch of curvy road for sure, having some nice roads close by does make ownership very enjoyable!

JCW age
Guess that I am the oldest fart here at 68. My last car was a 2007 Miata MX-5. While the Mazda was a good ride, no comparison to the 2011 Black & Red JCW. Great car, nice performance and great gas mileage which most at my work, won't believe. While upgrades have been few: wheels/tires, turbo insulated shield and a couple of other items, maybe I'll do mods on my 2014 JCW when it comes. No, I'm not afraid of first year models, in years past, did it many times. Oh yes, my other car is a 38 Ford Hemi powered Ford Sedan.
