I took delivery of my JCWCM today. It struck my as strange that the owner's manual states "Check the engine oil regularly after each refueling" and the dealership MA and manager both suggested I check oil at least weekly! How often do you top off your oil? I did not realize this was an issue.

 

I was told that as well. There are quite a few threads on here about oil consumption and stuff like that. I forget who I called to get tech help and they said the se thing and its suppose to be normal up to a certain point. Not a bad idea to check it when you fill up every other tank any way.

 

I definitely check it once a week, but at 6k miles now it's seems to have have used a drop(I did just get the oil changed at 5k).

 

It's all in the difference in choice, being pro-active or being a victim. The horror stories arise from those who don't check their oil and OTHER fluids on a regular basis and are too timid to admit their negligence.
