JCW Hardwire radar detector

Hardwire radar detector
Ok I searched the forum and there was a couple of threads where folks hardwired their detector. Unfortunately nothing recently so not sure if the colored wires changed.
I will be using Invisicord and mounting up by the mirror. Does anyone know what will be the switched power color and the ground power? The one thread the guy used light purple with blue stripe but then said his radar was staying on for 30 minutes because the power didn't shut off in the car for 30 min. Actually that was his radar shutting off after 30 min like most will do.
If no one knows then I will just jump in with my multimeter and go alone. I will post on this thread my findings for the rest to use.
Escort Max2
Invisicord
Cheapo permanent mount from Amazon (no suction cups but a very sleek/small mount that uses 3m tape)
This has been the set up for my last few cars and works great.

I finally got all the parts to do the job.
1. Passpost Escort Max2. It is my favorite.
2. Invisicord 18" wire
3. Hard mount from Amazon, no suction cup. Attaches with 3m tape. Way more stealth.
I have good news and bad news. The good news is the car is just like my Porsche. the bad news it DOES NOT have switch power in the upper console. If you must have switched power then you will need to do the long run to the fuse block. The Max2 has an auto off function so no chance it will kill your battery if you forget.
Here are the pics. Sorry there are poor quality from my cell phone.
The outer plastic "bezel" just pulls off.
This secondary piece needs to be released with a flat screwdriver like shown here.
I tested every single wire, about 15 of them. there is only constant power.
The wire gets nicely fed through the same spot the factory wires already go through.
Here is the final shot. Yes I know many like the Blendmount that hangs from the rear view mirror. I do not. I like the detector to be up and out of the way not obstructing my view at all, the Blendmount hangs down and obstructs your view, especially if you are tall.

Yeah I searched a few. None of your threads call out radar detector and in the one you replied to you didn't mention the color wire that was switched. You don't remember the color? If not thanks anyways, not that important.

You have to find a power turn on from the bock fuses, add a fuse should work.

I know guys you can run the wire and add a fuse. Got it. Not what I was asking. In all my other cars there is switched power up by the mirror so you dont have to run the wire all the way down and you use the invisicord.
Point was the gents above allegedly found that switched power and was asking him what color but I guess he doesn't remember and none of his posts of his hundreds have radar in the title so I am sure the info is buried somewhere in one of his posts and not easlily available. Again no big deal, mine works fine. If I forget to turn it off, it has auto shut off.

Ok, I think I found the post that caiken was referring to about doin a hard wire from the rear view mirror in his post above. It is from another site but from all I could find the wire harness is the same. Hope this helps as I was looking for the same thing _http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=780561

I personally would rather wire it from above - sunroof power... when some one cracks that let us know.
