Roadster JCW pads less than a year old?

Hi,

Just had my JCW MINI Roadster in service due to a problem with the roof not locking into place, this was fixed under warranty.

While it was in they advised that both front disk pads need replacing (At at cost of £200!) plus 2 front tyres (run flats) near legal limit and a replacement wiper (Another £50)

My question is this normal and are pads not covered under warranty? I don't drive it stupidly or apply the handbrake during driving or do skids etc so was suprised the pads need replacing at such a short period.

Clock is just over 9,000 miles on it. I assume its going to cost around £500 when the car is just under a year old, pretty peed off after paying almost 30k for it new!

Cheers!

This is a 2014 model? Something is wrong if you drive normally and already require tires and pads. Does anyone else drive it? I thought Mini covered all parts for the first 36000 miles?

Yes it's a MINI 2015 JCW Roadster, no one else drives the vechicle apart from myself.

I did too but apparently the warranty and TLC does not cover this as its classed as wear and tear?

I told them I wasn't happy when the vechicle has less than 10,000 miles and less than a year old but apparently its pretty normal on roadsters and was basically told to deal with it?

You live in Europe, right? Did you bought the car new and what are the warranty conditions in your country?

I am pretty sure you are covered for 3 years/36K for maintenance as we are in America. Call your BMW Customer Service in your country and explain the situation.

I am sure brakes are covered but tires are not.

I recently read that brakes are not covered in England and won't be covered in the US beginning with the 2017 MY. In fact, you can see the maintenance coverage for 2017 at MINIUSA.COM.

Are the pads the same as supplied on USA spec cars? Might be a different material.

Yea, they are the same, but i think they have a difference maintenance plan over there and some JCW stuff is not covered.
