Another 2013 JCW exhaust question

Hi Everyone,

Just to start, I want to thank everyone who has provided their insight on my previous topic ( 2013 JCW upgrade )

Our JCW really doesn't have the "Pops & Gurgles" that everyone is talking about. While it sounds OK, it definitely needs something more in regard to exhaust sound. I've read many of the previous post and just need final clarification.

This is where I need peoples input, I'm thinking about removing the resonator and / or the second cat. However living in So. Cal, I want to make sure I will pass smog tests.

1. Should I remove just the resonator or just the 2nd cat or both ?

2. If I just remove the resonator how much would it improve the sound ?

Any other input anyone has will certainly be appreciated - Steve

I removed the resonator only on my 2012 fJCW. I did it three years ago
and still love it. And have never gotten a second look from a leo.

2nd cat isn't monitored. You won't fail smog test if it's removed.

I would try removing the resonator first and see how you like it. You can always go back and get the 2nd cat removed.

Just a suggestion, a Manic tune will also add the pops and burble you are looking for and add more performance to your car.

Is your Mini still under warranty? If so, I would not remove emission parts. They have been designed and installed for purpose.

Put your sport setting on. The burbles and pops are there.
