What do I spy with my little eye? It's a USB-C port. AWESOME!

I don't want to be a Debbie downer or anything, but the two ports I see (under the ignition toggle) look like regular usb-a to me :(

Definitely USB-C. Hence the fast charging symbol next to the USB logo.

Anyone know of a Vin# for one of these vehicles? Reason: I wanted to order the GP3 factory strut bar and rear sub frame brace but my dealer said they need a Vin# to look up the parts.

I'm pretty sure nobody has a Vin yet, because nobody has a GP3 yet because they haven't been delivered yet.

Anybody subscribe to PetrolPed (avid MINI enthusiast) on Youtube? Last week he cancelled his long standing GP3 order. Was to be one of the first in the UK to get one.

I'm not subscribed, but I watch some of his videos, and I watched a portion of that one. From what I saw, it looked like his reason was more practical (no back seats, etc). And I can't argue with that. It can be an issue for some. Luckily for me, I took the back seats out of my F56 the first day, so I'm good with it, lol!

I did watch the whole thing and thought about posting it here, but decided not to as his reasons had nothing to do with the car; it was all personal reasons. So, why post it? He really like the GP and was excited about the thought of getting it. In another post he drove a Clubman JCW and really liked it. And it sounds as though it fills his needs better than the GP would...

Anyone have access to GP3 part numbers yet? I wanna grab the strut bar & hood gasket, rear trailing arm 4 bolt brace and maybe the steering rack if it fits/has more feedback (like old VW/BMW's) 1/4 turn lock-to-lock .

I will let you know if i find them. realoem last updated 3/2019 and will not be updated most likely anymore as the platform changed is internal to BMW. Unless some other etk site come out.

It seems that it took a while after the GP 2 hit the streets of the US market for its parts to become available. My guess it will be the same for the GP3

They've been delivered across the pond, so it shouldn't be too much longer Stateside.

I noticed a couple listed for sale, but unlike many US used car sites the VIN # isn't listed:

A few have popped up on instagram.

I like this one and would be stoked to see one at my local grocer!

And,
as a side note I noticed someone did a squashed caricature of the GP3 and I thought it looked neat as it echoes the stubby bull-doggedness of Frank Stephenson's original design.

I'm suspicious of the one in the parking lot. I don't think "9023" is a valid number, since they're only making 3k of them. And 9 being cut off at the top? Hmmm.

Either way, If anyone had them by now, regardless of location, wouldn't there be YouTube videos and all kinds of reviews?

Good eye, I didn't really notice.

hmmm, wonder what's up with it then? A replica or something???

I did see an actual short review, sort of first impression thing...

quoted:

Collected it this morning, sill not 100% sure I love the wheel arches but hey...

The Drive:
The weather was very wet on the way home so I will reserve final judgement for a few more miles. But no rear wiper will be a pain for daily users in wet climates.
Exhaust note is very bassy on startup and pulling away but is not noticeable when on the move (although my drive home 3000rpm or less), I have yet to drive it hard to see if there are pops and bangs on overrun.

The ride is very firm but it doesn’t crash into all the potholes we have in the UK and imho the ride is much better than my previous Cooper S on runflats.
The steering, it’s very direct and quite heavily weighted - it feels great.

The gearbox, I’ve only used auto so far (48miles covered) but I must say around town it seems lazy. I guess it will ‘learn’ and be more reactive to stronger throttle inputs.
The pace, I’ve only used maybe half throttle and it does fairly pick up and go. Looking forward to putting my foot to the floor soon.

Interior fit and finish is lovely, seems a step up from my 2015 Cooper S.
I tried ‘GP Mode’ briefly - that just seems to change the ESP/DTC mode without changing steering or throttle response.

I don’t think anyone will be disappointed with the way it drives.

US GP arriving soon

First batch of GP3s arriving this week to the US. Not sure how long before they'll get to the dealer.

We need a little “Christmas” right now. Something to look forward to. I seem to remember that my dealer had 4 coming in and they were all spoken for... I wonder if one will make it into the showroom for the rest of us to see... Hmmmmm

I know MINI has not communicated well but the one I ordered for myself arrives tomorrow at the port in Jersey. I'm in Florida so not sure when I'll see it. There are 25 arriving to the US before the end of the month. This might be call "Insider Trading" if we were talking stocks.

Now I have questions, if you don't mind . Which phase of ordering were you? Did you get a notification from Mini of the build status? If so, when? Which package did you order?
