Well this is now THE FASTEST mini I've owned, nonetheless driven or been in..
it was decently quick befor but since I put on this manifold, that really woke up the car ( also added a nice loud POP between shifts) BUT I recently had adriancl retune the car because I've put on more mods since the prior tune..
we added a little timing and dialed in it perfectly according to my afr wideband and data logs and he also upped the boost about 5psi too.. he also turned off my rear 02 so my wideband can utilize that bung AND he turned off my tpms so I could then trade my focal rims and tires along with my enkei rims for a SET OF ROTIFORMS ! these are ACTUALLY my 3rd FAVORITE style rims. So im PUMPED to get them. But lol they need new tires as these are stupidlow profile. Barely a rubberband over a rim. I will explain why below that unfortunate I need to get cheapo tires for now.
lolololol it's made the car soooooo much more powerful and responsive too. There's such little amount of boostlag I actually am kinda in awe. I haven't had a turbo car in many years and these new turbos , wow man.
btw , do you think i could fit 205/50r18 ????? Id prefer a chunkier tire for personal reasons.
don't get me wrong I MISS THE HECK out of my sprintex supercharger. liked its sound soooooooo much better than the stock mp45 and better thsn the tvs900 by far. Buuuuuut idk ?? Lol i think i like this cars turbo noise better...I've been saying it over and over BUT once I'm back home I will finally upload a video to show you guys how this car pulls AND sounds now.
i also put on much more cf trims covers in the interior and a jcw carbonfiber logo ebrake handle to match the shifter and rest of the interior. I put on different mirror covers too.
Anyways , once I get hack home I will get a set of tires ordered then BUT NEXT TIME you see some pics of the car being worked on. The pics are gonna be FROM MY HOUSE AND MYYYYYY GARAGE !
I told ya guys why I had to sell my r53's and it all worked out and long story short. MY WIFE N I BOUGHT A HOUSE !!!!!!
so we already close on our house in 7x days only as we did a fast sale and the day i get the keys is the LAST DAY i stay in this ****ing **** run apartment. Rebts gone up EVERY YEAR , they've violated their lease and did nothing about it , stopped providing cable and internet per rental agreement buy didn't reduce rent ,actually still raised it then too and when they did that our monthly payment increased over 300$ with cable snd internet bill along with rent increase. THATS INSANE ! then they pick n choose who can and cant do what here. Even though I'm by far the most respected and respectful tenant who does work on his car ( neighbors never complain, actually I help alot of them as they are elderly) they still ***** at me if I even have my hood popped in the parking lot. Then I ONLY worked on my or freinds car IN MY garage here and them they began hassle me about that too.. though I just seen a tenant keep his pos rustbucket truck ON 4X JACKSTANDS not even in a spot but parallel infront of his garage FOR 4X DAYS STRAIT !! he also left 5x big stains , all 4x tires and oilpan pissed all over the pavement. Lol but they hassle me for having my hood open lolol. So after the last run In and the fattitude having rude *** manager hassled me , we're leaving.
we can also legally break out lease too because they refused to allow us to transfer out lease and get a 3bdrm apt here ( got full placement and custody of my son ) and because of our emergency family situation and their denial of allowing us to move into a larger place. We get to now break our lease legally , lol , idiots.
we still gave them 60x notice though because we're not scumbags but how weve been treated here , the lack of maintenance and all amenities that were taken away. Im so glad to be gone...

Ille start by asking PLEASE anybody who has my number please drop me a text with your name and your nam s.n. I lost my phone and all my numbers too !
I lost my phone WHEN I HAD TO PULL OVER and inspect my car while traveling to see my father and get his house and property spring/summer ready. Well on the way a semi that was like 3x semi lengths infront of me had a tire explode and of course it was durring a terrible downpour so I could only swerve so much and so hard , exp with these stupid low-profile tires my rims have. So once I get off the freeway and on the exit/entrance ramp i pulled over to inspect it because i could hear **** rattling around and banging on the body. It smashed my front lip , pushed in my grill , knocked passenger mirror sideways , made another big dent on the hood. I shut my door and when I went to grab a cigarette to try and chill out I seen I left my window slightly cracked open and my interior got all wet
so I try to roll up the window and it goes up but when I shut the door it won't finish going up and fully seal now. Great. But atleast it doesn't while I'm inside driving I checked. I also noticed my fender flare has been busted too now. So im fixing stuff and as I jog around the front of the car I almost faceplant and absolutely bust my **** on the soaking wet road. Buy WTF ??? it felt like I slipped on ice. So as I grab my knee to rub it I see oil ALL OVER my shoes , pants and the ground.. WTF !!?!!
I IMMEDIATELY SEE it coming from under my car , slowly rainbowing the pavement.. so I peek under my car and see it dripping oil , pretty bad. Bad enough I wouldn't drive it because I'd **** oil on who ever drove behind me and pollute the north woods.
so I'm starting to panic because now i cant find my phone , my cars ****ed amd im stuck almoat in the middle of no where. Thxfully a lady stopped and asked if i was ok and i gavd her a quick run down of the situation and asked to plesse call my dad for me then soon as she called him thxfully my pops which was under an hr away and he came out to pick me up and take me to his place and my cottage ( next door ).
so he takes me back the next day and I bring a jack to inspect and once I get it high to enough to see , my oil pan and I could clearly see a decent sized dent and it was wet there. There was an oil stain infront of my car but not bad but I checked my dipstick and it was dry..
CRAP ! so we had to towed to my cottage and towtruck was scared to go down my driveway though weve had heavt machinery go down it with half a house at a time just fine. So he dropped it at the end of the drive way and i had my pops grab chain and put my newly installed towhook to use ( literally installed it 2x days prior ). So then I get it jacked up and on stands and inspect more , put a qt of oil in and seen it almost immediately start to leak out the pan ,from the dent.
so I ended up ordering a new pan( had it shipped over night) and a new lip shipped to my place back home and taping back on my fender flare and cut off the center section of the front lip and put the hanging off support rod abot to the side so both were atleast supporting it. GOOD NUFF to get it back home and fix everything.... lol I swear if not for bad luck I'd have no luck..
then I did all my stuff for my pops and came back home today.. i parked the car and i will check it out more tomorrow. A few more things came in the msil for it too while i was gone but i wanna get it looking normal again.
ALSO since these tires are such rubberbands , they are 195/40 tires on a 17x8 rim..lolol so i ordered 225/45zr17 tires and will get them and the new tpms installed on the 29th..
But geez , I gotta get a win eventually here soon or later..
again if we've exchanged numbers befor , please drop me a quick text so I can have your names n #s again please..

Dude totally feel for ya. I had a year where it was nothing but bad luck, or was it a n14 curse? Get everything running smooth and boom something stupid. Check your intercooler and hoses as well. Note to self, keep the R53 out of Wisconsin 😂

So this clutch isn't easy to drive BY any means BUT my 14yr old daughter had absolutely noooooo issue learning manual with it. Didn't stall it once and only rocked it a few times and also never grinded a gear..
this was actually only her 3rd time ever behind the wheel too..
This kids a natural man ! Her 1st time on go carts against like 30 other men n kids finished 1st ( me In 3rd) lol I played her infront of the guy who was in 1st because his cart was abit faster but once she had the lead she boxed him in on every turn for about 3x laps too.
I also womped that camaro on a freeway pull , not even down shifting , just leaving it in 6th.. just the 4cyl turbo maro but it had atleeeeeeeeast intake and exhaust and possibly other mods so for my car to beat it as well as it did even if it was stock. That's impressive

I did the uv dye and found my leak.. my new pan seal is still leaking a little BUT I have a pretty bad oil leak BEHIND MY HPFP ! and of course they don't sell that Oring/gasket alone so looks like I'm in the market for a new hpfp now. Dang it !
well , I got on the replacement front lip and I put on full length side flares instead if the little ones in the rear. I put of Unionjack door handle covers but had to drill them out for the door handle sensors and lol I did it PERFECT you'd think they came with the holes already.
I also put in the aluminum coolant reservoir.
I ALSO FINALLY got on my new tires which are a 225/45r17 and fit fricken PERFECT.. the tpms I bought of aliexpress fir 30$ ACTUALLY were oem bmw/mini tpms sensors , I couldn't believe it when I opened them. I expected some knock off janky hollow things but sofar actually 90% of the things I've gotten off aliexpress have exceeded my expectations actually. And shipping is always under 2x weeks too. Lol its where I've gotten almost everything for this car from the catless downpipe to all the interior and exterior add on/accents.
id suggest just browsing the app and check out all the mini stuff they got.
I didn't find any other damage thxfully underneath the car from that exploding tire I hit. buuuuuut my drivers door now WONT finish rolling up the window flush once you open and shut the door , it refuses to close up flush and stays down about 1/4 and if it rains there a small enough gap it would get wet. So until I find the cause and fix I have to either use my garage or if I'm our in the rain , once I get park , I leave it running and jump in the passenger side and roll the drivers window up and remove the key from the ignition then and go on my way.. lol good ole mini quirks..
I have bid in on a new hpfp but I womt know if I can get it at any discount until 4x more days when the auction ends so cross your fingers and toes , or your ears if you can. Because man ! I hare to have to pay full price for a hpfp when all i really need is the gasket. But maybe i could atleast sell my current hpfp since other than the seal , it's works perfectly and is oem too. So if anyone needs a replacement hpfp , hmu..
here's a video showing you guys how well this little r58 pulls , this is on a conservative tune too. I had adriancl tune it to 20psi until I had a few more mods on and the new clutch in ect so thats all done now and I got on my good tires and rims sooooooo it's time to jack up the boost and moon moontune this sucka ! I'm targeting 25psi so let's see how the car feels THEN. If it's this quick on only 20psi I can only imagine what another 40hp and 5psi could do !
ALSO I been tossing around the idea of one step up in turbo size. Im running a k04 f21 billet 46.4/56 aaaaaand I been looking at upgrading further to another k04 f21 billet BUT 46/63 SIZED so just abit bigger.. buuuut I'm gonna see how this current turbo handles the 25psi and I will give it more thought because for the price of the turbo I could get a screaming deal on a set of widebody fenders flares that'd really set the car off. They'd tie in these wider rims and tires soooooo well. But it all depends on if this little move I'm trying to make moves smoothly so again , cross ur ***** if you can for me guys because with my luck , I need any extra luck I can get..
o yea ! I also did abunch more reading and researching and found theres a newer style diverter valve that has no internal diaphragm and they claim its more responsive than the old style dv even with an alta spring ( I just tried an alta spring , the car DiD NOT like it). So I did order that to slap on and try and hope it holds boost better or allows max boost abit quicker.
aaaaaand I almost forgot got. CHECK OUT MY SWEEEEEEEEET exhaust tips !!!

Sounds like your window needs initiallising. Try pressing the control all the way down, then continue holding down for around 20s. Then all the way up, and continu holding up for another 20s. That may fix that little problem.

I will try that , I will look into if there is a reset procedure for it too now that you mentioned that...
thank you for the tip !!!!

much appreciated dude ! My window is working correctly again , maybe when my daughter was learning to drive she maybe held the switch up or down too long or me possibly.

Well the new style dv DIDNT work out. Even though the car felt much smoother and got into boost abit quicker and felt abit faster AS SOON as I got off the throttle the big cel would illuminate and p2196 would pop up and go into limp mode for about 5min only , then the light would turn its self off and car go back into normal operating mode..?!? ODD ?!?
so I put my old dv back on AND ****ED up the threads !!!!!! 2x out of the 3x holes took the threads out because it was probably too hot yet when i removed the dv. LUCKILY i ran a tap and fed in abit larger bolts and averted a disaster.
I put a " diaper " around the fuelpump too to catch the oil before it gets in my filter and all down the back of my engine. I also put on hub adapters in my rotiforms ,now they fit PERFECT and are much easier bolting on. Then when I pulled off one of the centercaps I found THIS behind the center cap lololol someone thought they were reaaaaaaaaaaal funny. I SWEAR I hear a jingling kinda clanking noise at slow speeds. Lol I guess I WASNT being ****. Either one of my buddies did it when they seen my car parked somewhere or someone just wanted to be funny.. lol , I don't mind harmless pranks, I get a good laugh actually even if at my own expense.
soooooooo after I had it running a1 I went and ran against my buddies 96' k24 swapped hatch with a full build and kraftworx procharger running 15psi.. lol it wasn't even close ! He WOOOOOOMPED this r58.
soooooooooo , now I'm going to go with a BIGGER turbo and I'm also going to up my boost today via tuning with adriancl and Im only running 20psi now and id like to be at 25-27 psi ! exp since im about to order another turbo. Then i can remove this turbo and fully tap the dv bolt holes and keep it as a spare ir reinstall in encase this new turbo i get is too laggy. Although it SHOULDNT be too laggy. Im running a 46/54 and wanna up it to a 44/62.. so im hoping because of its size it will build boost as quick but have the ability to boost more if I need. Though I'm curious how this turbo I have now will respond to 25psi.. I'd just rather get it off and repaired correctly because I will ALWAYS have those bad boltholes in the back of my mind every time I go WOT.
if anyone is interested I'd sell my turbo AND my hpfp that are both currently on my engine , id sell BOTH for 400$ shipped..as you see in the video above , well as you can hear , hear how beautiful this turbo sounds ?? It does pull well and only issue with my fuelpump is a failing O'ring..
lol check out my whooping I took..

Daaaaang I've been busy and poor car has been neglected.
I was slowly loosing boost and power until the point I had to stop working on and setting up our house. The car began bucking under even moderate throttle, was peaking 13psi only and mileage dropped significantly. I was getting random cel codes for like 02 sensor, mafs and few other random ones so i boyght bunch of new stuff and was putting atuff on one at a time hoping to find my issue..
Well after a few 100$ wasted on useless ( not totally useless, nice knowing their new now ) parts I found the ISSUES.
1ST even though I used locktight and even heat cycled and retorqued the nuts , my intake manifold nuts were loose AGAIN aaaaaand i eben put a 2nd set of nuts on to try and lock them down better. But that still didnt fix my issue.
so I put on my new downpipe and new 02 sensors , I also had an extra bung welded into the pipe so I can keep my rear 02 in with a defouler and pass emissions then ( though I don't need to ).
I also made all new gaskets and this time I coated them in copper gasket spray and put in new exhaust gaskets too.
while installing the downpipe I decided to check my tyrbo stud nuts because I just had to do that on a buddies car who was experiencing my exact issues. OF COURSE my nuts were loose too. So I went n bought wreches that could get in that space and tightened them.
so after new downpipe, throttlebody, mafs ,all new hose clamps on every single boost and vacuum hose ,tube or line , new atmospheric bov , few new hoses , new 02 sensors and im sure I forgot some. O yea , I scored a NEW OEM hpfp too for cheaper than an aftermarket one ! So I will install that along with a 365lph highflow low side pump and new filter. I'd have done that long ago BUT getting at my tank access points are a pita and I gotta disassemble thr entire inside trunk area OR drop the tank, I just have to decide which route I wanna go and then order the lowside pump n filter.
but THANK JOHN COOPER my cars back to running like it should again.. o yea lololol I got ANOTHER turbo too. I'm running a 46/58???or56??? but i got the almost exact same thing but with abit larger exhaust compressor size and it is a 46/62 sooooo I'm hooooooping it will make a few more psi because unfortunately as quickly as this turbo I have on spools up and how sweet it sounds it only peaks 22psi and like 4k rpm and tapers off as rpm rise. I wanna be at atleast ATLEAST 25psi..I ALSO ordered a momba wastegate actuator with adjustable spring kit for it. I'm HOPING with an atmospheric bov with stiffer spring along with a different style performance wastegate actuator, I'm HOPING I can snag a few more psi out of this turbo or hoping to get it to hold that 22psi as far as possible into the Rev range. I guess we're gonna find out ... lol I also got coming an upgraded diverter valve thingy that replaces the bottom of the dv with a metal piston and housing along with a better plunger n spring. I wanna try that back to back v my atmospheric bov to see which one actually makes the engine respond better as far as more power. Idc about the cool sounds or something..
atleast I'm almost fully done unpacking and moving into my house and my garage is almost done being unpacked and setup too. I just gotta get another big rolling toolbox and big shelf because though its 4x bigger than my apt garage was , i have less little cubby/storage spots for my stuff. It SUUUUURE is nice having alllllllllllll this room to work on and move around in though..lol I do get frustrated though because I gotta setup everything so it's efficient and easy to access or bring upto my work area. Lol I'm not used to having to walk around and look for where my thing is I'm searching for. Lol its almost too big but lol ille get used to it. I just hate change , I even hate getting new shoes even if ones I'm wearing are full of holes , stinky and stained. I get comfortable in my groove...
anyways, here's some pics guys.. hopefully soon I can start updating this build thread more frequently..

New turbo is on and all the nuts have been super duper secured.. lol better not come loose again !!!!
buuuut the p.o.s aftermarket wastegate actuator is giving me ****.. I've got it adjusted as far as I can and it's still causing the turbo to be laggy and make less boost , wayyyy less boost , like stock boost numbers. Idk why but theres a vent hole on the body of it and I have a feeling that's causing the boost loss and cel codes.. what a p.o.s..
I also ordered coilovers , new eng and trans mounts ect..my suspension is taking a beating on these inner city roads I now live on.. geez ! What little life it had left is long gone and even a slick kick of my tires causes loud LOUD metal 9n metal clunks. Lol i got an extra months out my comtrol arm bushing by filling them with an rtv lololol.. anyways I got powerflex stuff for the mounts and I got rev9 hypersteet2 coilovers again. I've had awesome results using these coils with my r53s so I hope the same goes for this car too...
I will probably slap back on the oem style wastegate and chalk this mammba one up as yet another JUNK/useless so called performance part... ugh. The aftermarket definitely isn't what it was for the r53s , gowd there's alot of junk out there for the r56s... live n learn I guess rite ?
But check this out , why do k&n oil filters get a bad rep ? Imo , just by looks , it looks much better than oem. It definitely DEFINITELY allows better oil flow but ille agree that the media/material and how its made doesn't filter as well BUUUT that's completely fine with me because I don't ever let my oil get dirty lolol so bigdeal. I'd absolutely rather have better oil flow than better oil filtering.. this is the k&n on the right and oem on the left..

2096 is for the upper o2 sensor. Since it looks like you just replaced it, maybe the new one is bad or the wrong part?

1631 is for a sticking throttle body. The throttle body code could be why your boost isn't there...

I like this site for interpreting codes: https://bmwfault.codes/

Hmmmm
maybe I will play with my new scanner so ille see if i can do some check further and live data and see if my tbody isn't working correctly. As well as my 02s because it allows dynamic 02 testing which I'm going to see how well that works later this afternoon.
thx for the pointers ! Lololol i forgot i bought this scanner.
I did actually try a different tbody awhile ago and it had no change, along with a new mafs. I think the issues are coming from my momba wastegate not being set rite and I probably have the wrong spring in it too..
I will try adjusting it more and maybe trying a different spring..it is running much closer to where I'm expecting it to be at but not quite there yet..
I know it will need a retune too but I need it to be running a1 befor we try to retune.

Suspension overhaul has begun and I finally bit the bullet and ordered a turbosmart plumback diverter valve. Milwaukee streets strike again and luckily i could hear the screw in my tire every rotation so i knew it was there befor it went flat..I personally hate how this atmospheric bov sounds and i know its loosing power with it vs a diverter valve..it takes extra time to spool up with a bov vs a dv because the dv can use recirculation to help hold and maintain boost between shifts where as the dumb bov releases ALL pressure so soon as I hit next gear my turbo has to begin again from 0 and build up..
lololol some pos stole my transmission mount too , I had it curing in the sun and literally a pos scrapper came through and stole it.. no , he didn't confuse it for scrap either as I put my scrap aside just for them. He came up my driveway and took it out from under my garage awning... i know the truck too so next time i see him coming through , hes catching a rock with one of his windows..

Wow it rode niiiiiiiice after installing the coilovers.key word in that sentence though , RODE..
Holly crap it made the car responsive. Lolol already saved the car too ! I almost took out a deer doing 70 , got sideways doing 70mph and was able to correct and pull out of it all without ever leaving my direct lanes on the road or going onto the shoulder. Damn this car can HANDLE !!!!! I think that was the furthest out of control ive had a car ( I panicked and ya ked the wheel to the right FULL CRANK doing atleast 60 at that point ) and been able to fully recover..
it ALSO probably helped I installinstalled the performance engine and transmission mounts. I filled the stock bushings and installed powerflex inserts BUT WHAT A ****ING mistake ! Unlike the r53 which I did 10x more stiffening and suspension mods , this r58 after installing those mounts ,when I 1st started it it literally SCARED me it WAS SO LOUD inside the cabin.. omfg !!!! It sounds like I'm running a strait pipe full 3in exhaust it hums so bad , it's really THAT loud in the cabin. Then you step out if the car thinking the exhaust is loud and that's what your hearing but lol you step out and it immediately gets quiet. UUUUGGGGHHHHH , maybe I will remove the dang near solid mount that connects the engine to the subframe underneath.. if I was a betting man, I'd bet that's the mount causing the most noise..
it's still making a pretty janky sounding noise because of my lack of control arm bushing integrity BUT I did atleast refill them with rtv in the meantime so they're tighter and not clanking so bad on big bumps until I can drop my subframe and replace them along with the arms , balljoints and throw out bearing...
I removed the mamba turbo actuator also , it just wouldn't make my turbo spool up quick enough I felt like , even with it fully adjusted. I also tried all the differedifferent too in it. Although I DID see 3lb more boost with it ,it didn't make the boost fast or low enough in the rpm range and I don't like ANY lag. I like that immediate , downlow r53 type power still and I had this car almost exactly where I wanted it until I blew out the oem diverter valve , then 3x more after that chasing down my issue. Then I had all those bolts come loose and couldn't find that power loss then either for awhile.
so it's been atleast a month since I've had my engine running to its full potential and where It should have been. So now im running a turbosmart plumback diverter valve because idk why but the oem dv , if I was making 20+psi and had to abruptly let off mid pull , bear redline , the blowoff would destroy them immediately and they'd no longer hold boost beyond 15psi without bleeding it off snd causing powerless and drivability issues at full throttle.
lol this car ive noticed DOES NOT like cheap parts , I was able to use alot of budget parts with great results on the r53 but I'm finding the opposite is true with this newer mini.
Now that I got it running a1 again , adriancl is going to try and raise my boost because now I'm only peaking like 22psi max and I want it to be like 25-28psi so I have a few more psi I'm chasing. I feel like if the car can make 28psi , it will be rite where id want it powerwise and be a great street machine with that power level and the suspension setup its soon to have...
here's pics !!!! Enjoy !

Start by saying sorry if my words are fudged , I have bandaid on all 5x fingers because I sliced them open through my gloves on my radiator fan when I was rotating it while I was cleaning it. My oil cap got left off snd coated EVERYTHING in oil after a 30min drive when I went to grab an extra hpfp. Omg what a mess !! It ruined my filter and my turbo blanket too.
thxfully i Already ordered a new filter.Because I seen somebody selling a cool filter on here that took in cold air from the firewall. So I decided to copy that and make my own version of it for a 10th of the price. And it turned out excellent actually.
I installed the shift boot to lead also.Because I loved that clean look. And I think shift boots are kind of ugly.
I adjusted my coil over 2 and put some camber in my wheels.Because I got the 4 adjustable rear control arms that I plan on setting some camber into my rear wheels with also, and then I will put on my new control arms in bushings and ball joints. Then in my suspension should be good to go.
I also had adrian retune the car because the turbo smart dv Would occasionally throw a check engine code when the car was cold.So he tuned that out as well as my o2 sensor for my cat delete And we added a couple psi so now im making 24.5psi instead of 22.3psi..
I put in new sparkplugs and new 02 sensor again also and now the car has 0 codes , although I DID pop limpmode last night in 6th gear , wot. So it might need abit more tuning or I need to better adjust my wastegate more because it is spooling too soon and if I go 3/4 throttle in 1st snd 2nd gear the car has abit of drivability issue as it nucks n bucks because it's making too much boost for the amount of throttle input. Lol but it feel so good at wot lolol but I need to get it running smoothly, not just fast. But other than that and my clunking yet from bad control arm bushings everything is working well and I'm really digging this car.
I been considering upgrading to a coolerworx style shifter again too , lol even though u just got a boot delete but I know I knoll fetch a few $$ for my oem jcw shift **** and aftermarket matching ebrake handle to help fund it. But GOWD i love the jcw shifter ,its sooooo ergonomic and butter smooth going into gear and the aftermarket ones though they're better in every single way EXCEPT they're not notchy and I hate notchy, firm engagement shifters but that's just the nature of the beasts.
ooooo yeaaaa I got a screaming deal on some vland Headlights which are freaking sweet cause they now, factory adjust up-and-down with my headlight leveling sensors and I also have functionality of my brights again and tseem to be much better quality than the other ones I have.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand i scored an alta intercooler BUT lol I don't notice any difference vs my preproduction Wagner intercooler. I spent probably 3hr getting off the old stupid coAting which DONT help them cool down or resist heat. The worse possible thing you can do is paint an intercooler black how DUMB. Ugh.. what ever. I had to wirewheel , hand sand and sandblast it to get it all off. But the ic fits well and I like how it is gapped off my ac compressor abit so everything doesn't heatsoak to one temp.
lol I redid ny turbo too because I went to retorque nuts because it hrat cycled A few times and when I went to tighten down a nut. I snapped a stud. So of course, I had to remove the entire Turbo and replace the stud, but I took the time to get new studs and new nuts so hopefully, they won't come loose anymore. And I torched the s*** out of them too. And I put in some lock type although I don't think it will help because of the temperatures but I still try. And I also put in new gaskets, so hopefully it no longer comes loose in slowly loose boost. Lol my luck , never fails...if not for bad luck , I'd have no luck.
oooooo yea i also fried my frm/footwell module hooking back up my battery after fixing the turbo stud. That took only 3 extra hours to diagnose after i spent 3hr doing the turbo stud..thxfully i Found in eBay ad, where a seller rebuilds them along with other body modules and vehicle e.C.U's so I got it done for 60 bucks.Only thankfully and was back in under a week.So i'm very impressed with that place service. I did make a post about the f.R m issue and put a link to that seller In case anyone ever went through the same issue.I did because there was almost no Information on the internet regarding bad f r m or the symptom Or what to do when it goes bad. Luckily, I stumbled across a YouTube video that described my exact issues. And that's how I realized it was my f.R m causing those problems. When I would start the car, it would stay in service mode.I couldn't roll down my windows.Or up I couldn't lack her unlocked the car.No headlights only reverse lights were on all the time.No interior lights in a few other random issues. But the car did still run n drive lol , thxfully I had a garage or I would have had serious problems. It's only rained every day this Spring so far.If not for just five minutes it still rained pretty much every single day since march it's nuts. I've never seen this much rain in a spring before and start of summer.
I also took off the performance under engine mount because it was making the car a freaking buzz box and lots of cabin noise vibration so I put oem back on after I filled it to make it just abit stiffer..
i lowered the rear end some snd softened the rebound on the coilovers and daaaaaaaaaaaaamn it does really ride nice. I'm Surprised, more people don't go with rev9 coilovers, exp the hypersteet2 version .They really are good coil lovers.I've used them on all my minnies now i've owned.
I don't know if id said before or not but i did put on a turbosmart dv too finally. Unfortunately i didnt havd much luck with sny other dv or blow off vslves..
here's pics , enjoy !

I put on all 4x rear bars and out a tiny bit of camber in all 4x wheels then too.
lol the intaje I put on is LOUD when driving , probably because the only open part of it faces directly at me and is inside behind the facia.. you DEFINITELY hear alllllllllll the intake and turbo noise now..haha awe well..
my oil leak has gotten pretty bad now too so im going to change the vacuum pump seals along with a new vacuum pump and i will put in new oil cooler seals along with an aftermarket ONLY 7x row oil cooler. I only did a 7x row because I do want my oil to reach correct temps but with how hard I plan on pushing the car soon I'd like to know my oil is cool and not leaking. It appears to be running down front of eng / trans from oil cooler area , getting on my exhaust and crossmember and has begun to stink while driving and makes a puddle bad enough over night that I need to stick a diaper underneath..

WHOOPS !
hopefully my oilleak is abit better now.
I went to put on the new vacuum pump and if course I got one for a countryman which is abit different and unfortunately it can't fit because it hits the oil pressure sensor. But anyways, I seen my vacuum pump was only held in with 1x bolt derderder. When I replaced that turbo stud I didn't reattach the oil hardline mount and it was held on WITH THE BOLT FOR THE VACUUM PUMP. LOL so I put some seal expanding oil on the seal to the pump then thinly costed both sides in rtv and reinstalled it until I order and get the correct one. So hooooooopefully the oil leak is back to only a few drops like it used to be ( from oil cooler seals ) and not leaving fricken 12in round puddles underneath. Lol atleast my oil stats fresh rite ? Like they say " if it ain't leaking it ain't got any fluids "..
my oil cooler and oil cooler seals have been shipped.
in about a week once my daughter is done with her play she's in I will have the down time FINALLY and I plan to ATLEAST do the oil cooler seals , oil cooler control arms and bushings and 4x balljoints BUT I'd REALLY like to change my t.o.b to an oem one because this aftermarket one STILL is making noise at idle , it's never NOT made noise and it make it sound like I have a squeaky belt at idle off the clutch. It's SOOOOO annoying. From all I see n read the t.o.b replacement looks easier than an r53 and I did my r53 clutch no problem. And I had the rearmain seal replaced when the clutch n flywheel was done and it never had a leak UNTIL I got the car back from that job being done. I just didn't have time to do it my self and dude did a good job but I like to do stuff my self so I know exactly how it's done. I kinda fear it ny rearmain that's been leaking this entire time but we will find out soon.
I just haven't been able to go without having transportation since I've moved into my house because I've been so busy but I'm finally getting caught up on stuff and my wife n kids are always going to be put 1st.
so this is SO out of the norm for me to drive my vehicle with ANY known issue ,no matter how minor. That just is NOT my thing and it literally drives me insane knowing im driving janky. Im embarrassed when my vehicle leaks oil and its embarrassing to have to park it on the street or something when going to freinds n family or whatever really, I won't let my car leak on people's property.
I will get out there later ,befor I take my daughter to her rehearsal and check if my leak has slowed and if not I will take a pic so you can see how bad it's gotten.
Last 2x pics show how cool the alta ic keeps iat's. Sorry it was blurry , outside temp is 80' and iat temp is 84'. it doesnt get even 25' iver ambient on sunny, 80+ degree days. And that's doing a 5mph-100mph ish and the iat still never gets 25' degrees over. I ALSO backed off the wastegate nut ALOT , every time to take the car out I been adjusting it until I find the PERFECT spot. I'd had it set much much to aggressively and it would make boost instantly in low gears or from a launch into and gear but if I was on the freeway , it's like it needs a little lag then hit boost rather thsn make boost immediately to be faster. It's odd but having peak boost come in abit later in the rpm band ACTUALLY makes the car faster and not just faster but drives smoother also. When it's set to aggressively, at partial throttle it's like the engine is Ingesting too much air and it bucks n nucks almost like it's trying to get rid of the extra boost and not accelerate so quickly for that little throttle input.. I'm really starting to learn about how this newer setup works. It's sooooo much different than the supercharged engine and how it responds to changes. It's still fun but definitely more finicky. Lol for sure , definitely...

Lol I COMPLETELY forgot I bought led light literally the day I got this car, derderder. So I finally installed them along with led headlights and led license plate lights so all my exterior are led and when I set my mood lighting to the darker green , ALL my interior lights are green now also.
usually when I've run colored interior it would make it harder to see stuff at night BUT this green is actually pretty bright and it ACTUALLY is brighter than the oem incandescent interior bulbs. If I remember correctly the interior light kit was like 10$ too only.. imo , definitely worth it !

Those look interesting, are those the headlights or foglights?
Do you have a model number, or source for them?
