15" ASA-LW5 wheel search
Hello out there,
I haven't posted much on this forum since road racing got started last fall.
My #53 Cooper S has done well as an original Spec-Mini last fall then modified further this spring.
I have since replaced my white 17" x 7 1/2" ASA-LW5 wheels for 15" x 7".
Unfortunately, the 15" x 7" size has been discontinued.
If anyone has a set of these 15's and is willing to sell or trade for my 17's(like new), please contact me at paulosdiniz@aol.com or call at: 225-953-2742
I can still get (2) of these wheels, anybody ruin a wheel and have 2 or three left over from an accident???
Really would like to have two matching sets so one can be fitted with rain-tires.
Thanks,
Paulo

why the switch?
can i ask you why you've decided to switch from 17's to 15's?
at one time i was thinking of doing just that, from the oem 17's. but decided to go down to just 16's as i was advised that i might be spinning the wheels a bit much with some power upgrades.
btw, i have white asa lw5's but in 16's

Why 15's?
Reason for going to 15's from 17's was the following:
1- By going to 15's, you can fit 225/50 15's, more rubber without rubbing.
The overall dia. is a bit smaller than the OEM run-flat but you gain more acceleration with slightly lower gear ratios, less rotational mass (lighter wheels & tires), more tire options in this size especially in competition tires ie. slicks
Car also drops a little more in height, looks really cool...somehow the looks better with 15's & finally handling has improved.
If interested in how it looks, post your e-mail address and I will send a photo.
Regards,
Paulo
