eBay?

I have been watching this for a little while.

TheOfficeMaven, you may want to check it out. I realize they are white, but is there more of a demand for white compared to silver? The bid is up to ~$800 last check PLUS the guy wants $140 to ship...

Wow! Thanks for passing the link along. I think that there's more of a demand for the white wheels (I have no idea why as they're near impossible to keep clean for more than a day ). It looks like I'll need to put them up on eBay.

Thanks again...

Man they went for $970

It looks like 3 relatively new eBay'ers were duke'ng it out.

A quick search showed 2 other sets at less then $550, one with 8 bids and the other with none I guess they wanted the white!

Okay... supply and demand...

A couple of cans of white spray paint will put you back... $2.50 at you local hardware store?

GO FOR IT, DOOOOD!

And I agree about keeping the white wheels clean - more energy than I have!

If you still dont get to sell them at that price, I'll give you $500 cash for them. I'll even come and pick them up.

Hi calelpilot,

Thanks for the offer but I'm afraid that I really don't want to let them go for that cheap. I'll keep you in mind if times get ruff though.

That's the true sound of "supply and demand" for these after two months on the market. AND, no additional shipping costs!.

Worth considering, Mav...

Not for me it isn't... I'm in no rush to sell them (other than wanting them out of my garage that is ) and so I'm not going to settle for a low ball offer I'm afraid. I think that the price they're at now is more than fair for them. If they don't sell I won't cry.

Thanks for your thoughts though...

I had to pay $100.00 just to install and balance two tires because
the runflats require a special machine. I think your price is more than
fair. But that's just me.....good luck and free bump

Yeah, I'm afraid that I'm a really long way from Iowa!

The wheels are actually all boxed up right now and so if you're interested in having them shipped to you then that's doable as well.

Mike - the following is a PM I tried to send you. Seems your mail box is full. Hope you don't mind everybody and his brother reading this...

Thanks for your prompt replys to my questions and comments.

Bob

Hi Mike,
Sorry I didn't get back with you yesterday after I paid for the medical bills for Miss MINI, but it was REALLY late when I got home. The bill wasn't that great, but...

Well, I traded cars. (That's why I was so late...)

They had a beautiful black/black MCS convertable on the lot that I fell in love with Monday when I took Miss MINI up there, and I told myself that if they still had her Wednesday, I would talk about a trade. They made me a deal I couldn't refuse, so I didn't.

Looks like I will have to pass right now on the wheels/tires. Sorry. I hate to back out now, but I hope you understand.

I still think you are asking a VERY fair price for your set - I'm sure someone will scarf them up.

Later, Bob

Hi Bob,

Sorry about my Inbox being full. I'll go try and clear it out right now.

As for the wheels, no worries at all. As I mentioned to you before, I'm in no rush to get rid of them. Besides that, I certainly can't blame you for taking the new MCSC instead. Kudus to you! I'm sure that it's one heck of a nice car and that you're going to love it. And... Your MCSC (assuming it has the Sport package that is) should have come with the 17" Bullet wheels and I think those are GREAT wheels. They're the wheels that we put on my wife's MCS and that's why I have the extra set of S-Lites up for sale.

Take care and enjoy your new ride...

The dealer had some aftermarket wheels already on it. Matter of fact, it was a deal breaker.

(He gave in...)

edit: Well, to be honest, I gave a little - he gave a lot.

s-lites & trinkets in general

Sportsfans,

Deal or no, the problem with middle age, affluence and employment at a large international express company is that when you see a trinket you have even a remote hanker'n for, it's only an email and air waybill away. Or if I'm really worked up into a sweat over it, a jumpseat on the company plane for an up close and personal admiring of the goods before they find their way home to be stuffed in the garage with everything else. Anywho, though I know these 16's on my MCS ride a whole lot better, the s-lites - though stock - look juuuust that little bit more snappy without yielding to the temptation of 18's, rubber band tires and the marginal ride therein. Got something else in that garage when I feel racey anyway, I'll leave the more sporty stuff to the young whippersnappers.

Cheerio,
Peter
