Blue Meanie

I've been away for a while. Just catching up on all the great photos of great-looking MINIs. Blue Meanie is coming up on 10 years of motoring. He's looking forward to his birthday:

Thanks for the response!
xstart is right - they are Cross wheels and they are 18's. Very sweet wheel on an equally sweet R53.

Thank you! This is outside the Atomic Cowboy cafe in St. Louis. Had brunch, then when I returned to the car I said "hmm ... that looks nice!" :-)

Nice photos, everyone. Since purchasing my MINI a few months back, I've been able to take it out for some photos here and there.

Any chance you could email me a high-res of this? I'd like to print it large, frame it!

These are very nice. Did you use a polarized filter on your lens?

Nice pic Mr.T.
I'm guessing it's an HDR photo and that you've achieved those beautifully vivid colours by 'sandwiching' a trio of +2, normal and -2 stop images?
Intrigued...

You are correct, sir! Circular polarizer filter on my Sigma 17-70mm lens. Incredible what a little filter capped onto your lens can do. Really balances out the tones and makes clouds/sky pop that much more. I always shoot in RAW and then do the post-processing in Lightroom afterwards. Thanks!

Not my pic, cjm. It was ofioliti's pic.

Nice shots! I see you've got a Canon T4i. I've got a T3i myself. What lenses are you using?

Impressive and inspiring! I just upgraded from a t1i to t5i. The silent AF motor is surreal.

CJM, i took the photo with my iPhone4 then reduced the exposure and increased the contrast slightly using the Snapseed app. No HDR.

Nice! I have a Sigma lens too, and capture in RAW. I don't know half the tricks I can do with Photoshop CS5, but I've gotten decent in recent years at nailing exposure near perfect in camera first -only so much can be done in a digital darkroom. I must charge my battery. Been playing with the mini so much I haven't thought much about the camera recently.

I'll give a try at some shots of my car, and post for everyone soon. Thanks for the inspiration.

Motor on -and wave!

Thanks! I've just been using the 18-135mm kit lens so far. I'm hoping to pick up the 50mm f/1.8 sometime too - it seems like a pretty fun lens for the money.

Go for the STM 40mm 2.8. I've had three of the 50mm 1.8s over the years... Two broke... The STM 40 lens is an absurd value. Focus is so much faster... It's much more useful.

Stole some pics of a GP2 from someone's car at the lot in Orlando. Wish she were mine! It's a sweet ride! CF covered everything. Don't know much else about it.
