My own MINI (heh) photo shoot - UPDATED with over 80 photos 3-21-2011

So for christmas I picked up a new Canon T1i DSLR and only had gotten to use it so far for pictures over vacation. So the other night I was free and wanted to go shoot some pictures of my Mini, so I just headed out and looked for cool locations and spots and this is what I came up with, I figured this would be the best place to share them. This is my first time out doing any type of "pro" photos.

also please be patient, the photos are big.

let me know what you think and Enjoy everyone

The last picture is pretty good. I would have shot up a bit more to get more of the cityline in versus the ground in front of the car.

I too just picked up a T1i.. lots of fun

Thanks guys and gals, I appreciate it a ton I love taking pictures and sharing them with everyone, I was so happy when I got my camera for christmas. expect more from me over time, I love my MINI and I love photography (then why am I studying mech engineering? hah)

Rowdy if you get a thread update email from this reply come check out the last picture again, I re-touched it up to lessen some of the really deep blacks that were melding some details. the shots out of the camera come out great. no complaints there, just as is with DSLRs they tend to shoot a little more conservatively and leave room for post processing.

N666BK, there was just something about that garage, I just loved the texture about it, it was just so what I was looking for that day.

Chiorozco, I was ecstatic when I came across that spot. All I could keep thinking to myself was that I had hit the jackpot. It was getting late and I was in an unknown area to me and to be honest it was really sketchy, like if something happened no one would ever know sketchy. but I knew I had to get a good shot.

Thanks again

-Peter

Great pics! And I have a feeling great range to the Canon (high ISO numbers?)

thank you, The cameras fantastic, it's ISO Max is 12800! but I would never shoot pro pictures at that high, too much noise. Most of the shots were between 100-400. All of the night shots were 100 ISO with a combination of long exposures and high F stops and vice versa, 100 ISO will give the sharpest and least noisy photos so I tend not to shoot much higher than 400.

The edit looks fantastic! Much like photogs. of the past using darkroom techniques, the best photos are almost always touched up after the shot is taken

Which lens are you using?

Nice. I'm looking to find a deal on the 10-22mm. I was using a friends Xsi with this lens last week and WOW.. The wide angle makes such a huge difference..

What program did you use to touch up?

Im tossing around the idea of saving up $50 a week for the next few months and getting the 15mm fish eye. but in that time Im sure i'll research and look in to a nice wide angle lense. I think im going to take a ride down to the photo shop now anyways haha. I just used CS4 Photoshop.

dude thats so true, so far my list consists of the fish eye lense, wireless remote, CF tripod, external flash, filters and a new bag to put it all in.
I Picked up a CPL (circular polarized lense) last night but havent gotten to use it yet.

Reviving an old thread here but I have some photos that I've taken since last year that I would like to share. I have since then improved my technique in shooting and editing skills.

I have been hanging out with a local car club since last year and been to many shows that I have photos I would like to share with you all.

All taken with the same lens and camera as my first shots! Just look at how I've improved!

Also I've made a small website and I am trying to get out there and make a lil' cash on the side doing this

Thank you Vlad

Sure, I shared them with everyone on here, I don't see why you can't share it with others.

What "foreign resource" (ie another forum) would you be posting to? just wondering out of curiosity?
