It was very kool to be able to get hands on with the Countryman! So much better in person. The car is a great balance of all things uniquely "MINI" and yet still catering to a new owners group within the brand.
We are excited to spend more time with the Countryman in the years to come!
Thanks again!

Excellent Pictures
Thank you for the great photographs. The Orlando dealer had one on display Aug. 6th. but it was very crowded and not uncovered by people enough to get good pictures. I liked it a lot and was happy to see the back windows roll down. It is really nice and still looks like A Mini Cooper is supposed to look. I'm sure they will come out with a JCW or WRC version in a year or so. I can't hardly wait until the one runs in the "World Rally Championships" I would like to see it win but would be satisfied if the Countrymen just finished.I'm sure they will need some dialing in time.

I really want to like this so I can replace my Scion xB for winter/crappy weather driving. Why did they design the front grill/headlights to look so angry? And I can't get past the Mickey Mouse look-alike speedo-vent set up. I will check it out in person after it is released, but my hopes are sinking with each picture I see.

It is not bad in person.
VEGGIVET- If you got used to looking at the uguly ScION xB you sure will get used to the Mini Coopers huge speedometer. It is not bad when you actually get into a countrymen and see how nice the dash layout really looks in person. It is quite nice.
When I first saw a Mini with that huge speedometer I laughed myself sick. I bought one anyway. Now that I have had my car and understand why the speedometer was designed to be big I really don't want it any other way. I like it because it is part of the character of the "MINI"
I'm pretty sure you won't mind the speedometer after you drive a Mini.
The flash and angle of the photographs distort the actual way that speedo/vents really look in person.

I saw the Countryman at the MTTS preview here in SLC tuesday night and was actually quite impressed, I think it's about right size wise, any smaller and you can't get the real 4 person seating. It was not as "bulky" looking as the pictures, still not wild about the frowning grill but would not let it stand in my way. I think it is going to be a big hit for MINI and the dealers, I didn't hear any negative comments about it from the large crowd at the party. I just don't need it but I think a lot of people with kids over 4 years old will find it the answer to their prayers. Don't think I would buy one of the All4's first year out, but BMW has had 4WD on the Beemers for a long time, so maybe it will be no problem. Met Gert the MINI design guy from Munich here in SLC, straight forward, knows what he is talking about. I think white is going to be the big seller color wise.
