From S54 swap to SULEV? Isn't that kind of backwards? 😉 Loving the ZHP goodness in the Touring. Have 8 more years to get my 82 VW Rabbit Convertible done for my daughter to potentially drive. (That's what I tell myself to make the time frame reasonable.) Funny how the worlds cross over!

Well, it looks like Grumpy's chapter with us will be coming to a close. His replacement arrived Saturday. He will get a few more small fixes/projects finished and be listed for sale. It's been a good journey, and he will hopefully live on with a new owner who continues to bring him back to his former glory.

Now for the latest arrival: a 2011 R55 Clubman S. One owner, 48k miles, Hot Chocolate Metallic over brown Lounge Leather. Not super heavy spec, but does have heated seats, HK sound, and Bluetooth. Needs a few little things, and the BBS wheels from Grumpy will get the lips/barrels refinished and installed.

So sorry to hear that Grumpy is going. It has been a good ride following along with you. Glad you decided to post this adventure.

The new MINI looks really nice. Heated seat - on of the best options MINI did! Enjoy your new car. Love to see a new thread about this car. Oh, it needs a name…

I'm sure Grumpy's experience will stick with you.
We always remember our "first". The new ride looks very nice! At 48K it's barely broke in!

Thanks guy!

Gave Ziggy some love yesterday, but I will have to start new thread for Ziggy and keep this one for Grumpy.

An idea for your first (second?) post for your new Ziggy thread - That is, how to get that cowl piece to fit back into that slot that runs along the base of the windshield after changing the battery… Ugh … never got mine to go fully back in.

At any rate - Great name and looking forward to the new thread.

@Eddie07S , I'm still fighting the right side of that cowl trim on Ziggy. It looks like it's down, feels like it's down, then a few days later I notice it's popped again!!

Finally took the time finish up the speaker install on Grumpy, today. Having figured out the process on the left side, the right side went pretty quickly. Gutted the old woofer, got the new one installed a little more cleanly, this time, install the tweeter, wire it up, mount the crossover, and then install the shield. All in the process of getting him ready to sell.

That sounds like what my cowl trim is doing. There is a lip I can’t get it to stay in….

Nice on the speaker. Someone will be lucky to get Grumpy…

Grumpy moved on to his new home yesterday. He went to a good friend of mine that I've known since kindergarten. My friend will drive him for a while until his son gets his gets his license.

Sad to hear.

Your friend should have their son pay something for the car. Something nominal, but something that is just enough to make him think about the consequences to his actions. That will make it worth something to him and maybe, just maybe, it will last more than 6 months. Hope it does. Then again a friend I grew up will would spend his hard earned money on cars then wrecked them. So no telling…
