Greenville Drive/Dinner July 28th -Updated
Hi MINIacs,
We're going to have two outings in July.
First, on Thursday, July 19, we'll meet at 9:15 AM at Lowe's, 1900 Poinsett Highway in Greenville (near Cherrydale) to go to the Carl Sandburg Home in Flat Rock to listen to the Rootabaga Stories performed by apprentices from the Flat Rock Playhouse, the State Theater of North Carolina. After the performance, we'll have a picnic lunch followed by a drive in the mountains.
Carl Sandburg wrote The Rootabaga Stories as fairy-tales for American kids so this is something that both kids and kids-at-heart will enjoy. Please let me know by Wednesday, July18 if you plan to come.
The second event will be on Saturday, July 28. More information will be coming soon.
Let's motor!

If any of you haven't been to the Carl Sandburg home its worth the trip. Even if you know nothing about the man and his wife and her prize winning Goats and their family history its a treat. With them doing the reading and acting them out it would be well worth it, everybody needs a little culture now and then! Wife will have knee replacement the 20th so just can't make this one. Luke

Hey guys, I'll be puttering down there bright and early Thursday and may be the only North Kakalaki guy coming. (Any NC types going, let me know and we'll caravan?)
Anyway, MINICHI and I will meet you at Lowe's, I'll be on channel 7 if you have an FRS and I'll send my cel to Carol in an email now.
Looking forward to this, even if it is four hours round trip! ;-)

Yep, dinner at Haus Heidelberg in Hendersonville is still on for this Saturday at 6:00 PM. If anyone wants to take the twisty route to Hendersonville meet at Pleasant Ridge County Park around 4:30 to motor up US 276 and the back roads near Flat Rock to Hendersonville. Some of us may rendevous with the Columbia MINIs around Landrum if they want to take US 176 up the Saluda grade. I'll post the rendevous place and time tomorrow (Friday) after I confirm it.
Please let me know if you're planning to attend and whether or not you'll be motoring us with the group.
Let's motor!

COLUMBIA JULY 28 GET-TOGETHER
Thanks for the pictures. My wife, Sheroyn, my car, TILLEY, and I had a really great time. Nice people; good eats; great motoring; lots of twisties. I've signed up for the fall Dragon. Can't wait to have another outing. I've "carded" several MINI's in Irmo; two sound like they'll join it.
Again, appreciate everything; had a great time.
