Mini owners in Raleigh/Cary?

I am in the market for a Mini as a 3rd car. I would love to hear from Mini owners in Cary/Raleigh about how convinient (or not) it has been to live a 100 miles from the nearest authorized mechanic.

Has it been a major pain to schedule service appointments and drive to and from Winston-Salem or Charlotte?

Does the roadside assistance really help alleviate this issue? Any comments/advice would be mucho appreciated!

Thx!

I live in Fayetteville, about 2 hours from either dealer. I've had my MINI 3 years and haven't found it to be too much of an inconvenience. I mean, it'd be great to live around the corner from one of them, but it hasn't really mattered considering the few number of times I've had to make the trip (5 or 6 times in 3 yrs). I schedule the service appointments 7 to 10 days in advance and make sure I'm there when they open before the crowd builds up.
I can't comment on roadside assistance since I've never had to use it.

Both dealers also have Saturday hours so that helps as well.

I've had my MINI for 3+ years and only had to make regular maintenance visits (some recall items were addressed during those visits).

I would have no reservations buying a MINI with the dealer 1 1/2 hours away. That said... sh*t does happen every now and then. Fortunately, with the warranty, MINIUSA will tow the car to the nearest if a problem does happen.

Purchased 03 from Flow in winston and took it there several times. Had it towed from charlotte to winston after big snow and busted a tire &wheel. I have always received great service from Flow MINI. I now deal with Hendrick in charlotte, but if they didn't exist i would still buy another from Flow. There is nothing like a MINI and i would drive 3 or 4 hours if i had to. Motor On you all!!!!
