MINI Motoring Hearts@Hendrick MINI Sat 5/13
I just wanted to post an email that Hendrick MINI is sending out to every one on their email list about a great event they are sponsoring. Here it is. I am going and hope to see you there.
Hendrick is hoping for some help from M2C2 with crowd control. Please post if you are coming and if you can help.
Thanks
Luke

Hi Friends,
You have been invited to a very special event Hendrick MINI is hosting. We are hosting a Marrow Drive called Thanks Mom! Our goal is to increase the number of donors on the National Marrow Donor Program Registry. What a better gift to give your mom this Mother's Day than the gift of life!
Who: The Marrow Foundation
National Marrow Donor Program
What: Thanks Mom! Donor Recruitment Program
(Don't worry...NO NEEDLES! Anyone between the ages of 18 and 60 are eligible to join the registry. On the day of the event, you will need to fill out a consent form and provide a tissue sample, which will be taken with a quick swab of your mouth. NMDP will then tissue type the sample and place you on the NMDP National Registry. You will then be contacted if you match with a terminally ill patient in need of a transplant.)
When: Saturday, May 13th, 2006
10:00am until 2:00pm
Where: Hendrick MINI Showroom
6800 E. Independence Blvd.
Charlotte, NC 28227
Why: We would like to increase the awareness of the importance and need for volunteer marrow and blood cell donors.[
So come and be a part of such a special day of fun, food, and of course, motoring. If you have any questions about the event or about the donating process, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on May 13th]

I will be there and will be glad to help.
What a great event for the good people at Hendrick MINI to be sponsoring. I am glad M2C2 can help with this effort. I hope we have a great turn out from M2C2. Here is a link to the club home page that has more information about the program.

This has a special meaning for me as my Mother turns 80 years old on May 7th and is currently battling cancer.
Thanks
George

Does anyone have an English Bulldog? Dana is looking to have 1 or 2 at this event. Won't that be fun?!?!
If you are willing to bring your Bulldog or know someone who is willing to do so, please contact her at the dealership (704-566-2510 or dana.fredricksen@hendrickauto.com)

Mini Motoring Hearts a Success
I would personally like to thank each club member who came out to the bone marrow drive. We had 52 people sign up to be tested and put on the national register. Thanks again members!!! Special thanks to Greenville and Columbia SC members who drove all the way up to make this a great day
I was working with people doing the swabs and there was a lady who was shaking. She told me she had waited for a long time to do this. She then showed me a picture of her 1 year old who had passed away from cancer. This alone made it all worth while. Later i found out that she and her husband had donated all the food. Thanks to Ed and Dana at hendricks and all the others who helped make this a great success. Luke Charlotte VP
