Trade K&N CAI for Alta v2, DDM, or M7

Category: Drivetrain
Price: $0
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R52, R53
Location (Region): NorthEast
Item Condition: Used

I've had the K&N Typhoon on my car for about a year now. It's in great condition, and the Filter is in good condition as well. Just looking for an even trade to try out some new ones.

Intakes must come complete with what came from manufacturer at least.

I live in central Connecticut and can pick up anywhere in the state and perhaps a bit further.

Thanks!

Alta intake sucks. It doesn't add anything to your experience, except 4 hours of wasted time trying to line up their parts that don't work. You lose power from it, and it's the cheapest POS I've ever seen.

I fully disagree. Was about a 30min job tops and the sc whine is awesome. 2 each their own I guess though.

I am 100% sure that chili was referring to the alta R56 intake. The one for an R53 is a whole different horse.

Maybe on your R50/53. The intake doesn't fit the new N18 engine's plumbing.

I have the same "CAI". There's not really any difference in performance in any of the R 53 intakes. Personally, I'd keep the K&N over the Alta. I like mine, it's been swapped out many times to find that little extra, the K&N keeps coming back. until there is some kind of real cowl induction, don't hold your breath, the K&N will stay in place. There are some better, larger conical filters that you can get that will improve flow.

There isn't much difference in performance across all of the intakes. However, I like the look of the boxes a bit better. That's the only reason I'd want to trade.
