You said this is a smf? I'm assuming it's the full kit with the flywheel? What's the total weight?

I know it is much lighter than stock. I was told it is a little more difficult to engage smoothly because it is much lighter

So two lbs lighter? I am considering the clutch masters kit because it is 13 lbs lighter. I've heard it makes the car drive very different but I want the liveliness feel. Let me research reviews on the valeo. I want to see if the single mass will still do this. I am building a streetable yet track ready r53 and am not so sure if a clutch is a good place to cut corners. I will be around 250 hp range though.

streetable and track ready are 2 different cars. A really light clutch will be hard to launch on the streets.

No, put them together and you get the best track car that can still be street driven. That's what I said, there's only so much you can do before a car won't pass inspection so what I am saying is up til that point. But I'm not throwing gobs of power as the circuit track around me is only 1.14 miles and has 13 turns. Plus auto crossing doesn't need power either.

Oh trust me that's definitely on my to do list! I'll rebuild the tranny too, at least new seals and synchronizers. But right now I'm budgeting on my car as I am saving to buy a trailblazer ss

Somebody buy this already. Far better pedal feel than the stock piece o' junk, and totally capable of taking common power upgrades. I love mine.

To the other guy: A flywheel that light will be a bit of a pain to daily, but not too bad (lots of throttle blipping). Upside is that the revs will drop quicker between shifts. The only place where a much lighter flywheel might hurt you is drag racing (less rotating momentum on launch).

Don't forget to also replace the throwout bearing guide tube, and to carefully inspect the bushings on the throwout fork.
