Gen 1 and Gen 2 Scoops are completely different. So it depends on what this scoop came off / was designed for

This is second gen r56, so according to Grizld it wont fit.
I'm positive he's correct.

Is this new-in-box or was it removed from a car? How many miles on it? Looking to replace my melted scoop but haven't decided between an all metal or one like yours plus a turbo wrap. Thanks for the info! Interested if it's never been on a car and dealt with any heat.

This came off my new 2013 JCW, it was replaced at the dealer before I took delivery of the car with a red one. I never drove the car with it on. was the car started and driven around the dealer lot YES...it had 1 mile on it when I recieved the car. That's as much as I know. I hope this helps.

Definitely can't find an all metal replacement online. Shame! I'd really like to do that instead of another plastic scoop... How much are you guesstimating shipping will be? I'm in Louisiana. Thanks!

No metal ones out there...I made mine out of aluminum, I hand fabricated it. To keep them from melting just buy heat shielding and adhere it to the hood...solves that problem right away.

Shipping to you would be no more than $25

Wait a second, you MADE your hood scoop?? I need to see pictures. Any chance you'd consider making a second one and selling it to me? I currently have a plastic 'chrome' scoop and I like the metal look but was going to switch to black since nobody has the 'chrome' one anymore. I'd rather pay top $ for a metal scoop that won't melt than $75 for a new black one that will melt in the future unless I wrap my turbo...

And to answer someone's question, people are liking the CF scoop for it's anti-melting qualities, but then you have the carbon fiber look... if you are into that.

The notch style hood scoop won't melt either since it's pushed out more from the undercarriage of the platform it's attached to. Nice hood scoop might I add:-).

I'd show you pics but it's chilly red now so you would see anything different. To be honest it's too much labor for me to sell. It wont take me as long to make the second one now that I've made mine but it would still be expensive. Besides even if the scoop is made out of aluminum you still have to heat shield the hood because the paint will be the next thing to fail. My aluminum hood scoop soaks up the heat...it's kinda like good idea bad idea.

You should get a pic of an egg frying on your scoop. Hehe

How did you make it? I'm wondering if it's something I could do. I'm good with my hands but it usually takes me two times to do something right when I haven't done it before. Would you entertain some questions? =)
