You will probably end up holding on to the parts in the event that you sell your MINI and need to take some of the mods off to recover from a short sale. I do not know very many people that did not take a beating when selling modded cars. I had to strip lots of stuff off on an R53 I traded in to recover a portion of the money I put into it. I am holding on to most of the OEM parts this time around so I have them in the event I sell my R52 JCW.

I now have an 06 JCW Cabrio and I have begun the modding & personalization of that car as well. This time I have decided to keep all of stock parts. I did list the chrome line interior parts for sale, but I got no offers that made it worth selling.
If you have some place to stash the stuff and you are not hurting for the dollars for your next mod, keeping the stuff is the best move to insure a bigger ROI if you ever need to sell.

I thought the same thing. I poured my heart and my wallet into my 2005 MCS turning it into a JCW and swore I would never sell it. Circumstances changed and I found myself needing an SUV to tow a boat, and I could not swing keeping the Mini. It was more convenient to trade it in then sell it myself. The trade was not being properly valued with all of the upgrades (should not come as a surprise) so I stripped most of it off and sold it on NAM. I actually had to leave a few valuable items because I got rid of the stock parts. (Screamin Demon Coil and upgraded wires). I sold the Chrome Boot Handle for $50 only to leave a Carbon Fiber JCW handle on the car that got traded.
