FS:: Good Deals on CL
#426
Year: 2006
Make: MINI
Model: Hardtop
Price: $1
Mileage: 100
Color: red
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (Region): Midwestern
$6900, 63k miles, chrono, 2 owner, jcw body kit.
Ran the vin and it appears to have the lsd too. Would be a sweet track car with the lack of sunroof. A little pricey at basically 7k. But how often do low mileage lsd cars appear

Saw this a couple of days ago. Might have sprung for it if it was available earlier

Maybe he is tired of the on-line tire kickers and just wants to sell local? I wouldn't attempt to sell anything on CL, can't deal with the bs.
#431
Ok. I know it's supposed to be dedicated to CL sales but I can't help post this one. I watch this site for interesting auction/salvage cars and this just popped up:

HOLY CRAP!
That JCW Checkmate is outstandingly wonderful!
Thanks for sharing --- I enjoyed seeing it.
Would love to buy it but Idaho = hassle because I ain't got no trailer.
I was fooled so many times when looking for a slicktop because of pics similar to the one you posted above where angle and lighting makes it look slicktop but then looking further finding the panoroof --- the black roofs can especially fool the eyes.

No idea what 'mechanical' is wrong with it but with the body and interior as good as it is, the buy it now of $5k is almost worth it

I'd consider the task, but I'm all out of room, lol.

I see in your sig you have a 500e... how do you like it?
#441
The 500e is a great little commuter car. Its a blast to drive as its got instant torque.
Its a lease and going back in March.
Planning on picking up a Chevy Volt to replace it as the 80-90 mile charge is a little restrictive.
#442
the best place is TechMaster which is the place on Denton. Rick is the owner and he is great. His wife has an 06 S and he has always done a great job for me.

I was going to throw a bid out, but you need a license or to hire a broker. Not going to do that! Same as you delivery will be an added expense.

Thanks for the info. I'm registered on eRepairables.com as a bidder but my bid limit is 3k without applying more funds up front.

I sold it to by an R52 JCW

I found a place in LA that sold "factory refurb" 500e's with about 30k miles for around $5k. I almost bought one, but ended up with a '12 Volt. Really loved that car, it was a blast to drive which was a complete afterthought. Handling was great, torque was incredible, and the interior was very comfy. I sold a blue '06 R53 with low miles, lounge leather, and LSD to buy it. The volt saved me a bundle on gas as a commuter.

As much as I like the Fiat to commute its got a lot of limitations.
Hoping to score a 2016 Volt coming off a lease this coming year for a deal.
I hear you on saving a ton. At one point I was driving my F250 to work and it was costing me near $300 a month in fuel.
When I started driving the Fiat and charging for Free at work....well it was $0 lol
I dont feel as safe in the 500e as I do in my truck...but I manage

Where I work a lot of people have the Volts, Bolts, i3, and misc hybrids. I like the 500e because it's not like the rest and you don't see many of them. At least here we don't. We have a few Abarth's running around though. I think for my needs the 500e will do as a commuter and still be fun. I hope the battery industry takes the leap to dual carbon batteries soon and I can get a pack made.

Its a blast to drive. Thing burns out like no other! haha

If I were to get another Volt, I'd just get a cheap $6k 2012 model with under 100k and rack up the miles. The batteries have shown to lose almost no capacity after 300k miles. In Iowa, the cost per KW made my electric bill jump maybe $10-15/mo.
