I have a lot of people contact me if they are considering selling theirs or if they are looking for something specific and want to know if I know where to find one. Maybe I should start a business 🤔 lol.
Nice that you are keeping an inventory list! I was wondering when someone was going to monetize this thread.

You may need to send that BRG gem to @Chamberlin1 for him to consider, once his divorce is final...

LOL divorce has been averted for the time being, and in the meantime, I'm going to have fun refreshing the Royal Grey (Earl Grey? License Plate: TEATIME).... Whether or not I hang on to the RG car indefinitely, I will still be looking for that premium BRG JCW, as long as it's reasonably priced (i.e. $10-$15K). I still look at that beautiful BRG R52 in Florida almost daily. Such great photos.

I'll try to get the RG thread started this weekend (since I'm no longer doing the road trip to San Diego!).

Regarding that car, I talked to the seller for about 20 min or so, and although he didn't appear to be a mega MINI fanatic, you gotta appreciate his penchant for cool cars, swooping up a red/black 2020 Vette by chance as he walked into the dealer right after somebody bailed on their order.

The BRG JCW MINI was auto-crossed just once, hence the scrubbed front tires (now rotated to the rear). Dent on the pass. side silver roof, scrape on the left rear happened when stopped someplace to go to the bathroom for 5 min, and came out to that scrape (not rust). Looks like he tried touching it up. He's only driven it 10K miles in 4 years, and yes he's only done one oil change in that time, at about 5K miles into his ownership. Original owner traded it in at a Porsche dealer, and the second owner was also a Porsche guy if I recall correctly. He said both of them were pretty meticulous with the car. I don't think the current owner has done much servicing to this car, so I'd expect to review/refresh everything, starting with the oil! He did replace the windshield, and it's possible that it had been replaced before that too. Interior needs a deep cleanse, but look at this engine bay:

Here are some other shots including VIN, definitely a 3AL/2AT car:

He must of hired someone to do that engine bay lol, he should’ve hired someone to change the oil, at least once a year, what’s the big deal. Oh well, bet he doesn’t go that long with the Vette.

Dammit @Chamberlin1 ! I made peace with the fact that I was not going to think about the SD BRG. But know I am wondering if a trip to SD is in the future!

Since we have been sharing success stories lately, just wanted to add mine. I bought this car a year ago. It’s a factory JCW checkmate slicktop, with one owner and full documentation. Could not pass it up. All original and super clean inside/out.

Man I can believe I’ve been posting these for this long, glad to see they’re ending up with good people. That’s one sweet JCW, Seems so much harder to find em like this lately.

Haven’t got any good pics of mine yet, by the time I got it in the fall, it was almost time to put it in storage. I’ll bust it out in another month or so, and start a mechanical run down, lots of preventative stuff. 52k miles so I shouldn’t need to rob a bank..yet. I’ll post some worthy pics.
This is my seller saying goodbye to his good friend after 13 years. Most decent man I’ve ever met. I totally lucked out, felt bad about removing it from his custody.

Yea, same with my significant other.... I had to BMW 'beat' her into dark metallic green submission over the course of 10 years! (see below) And all my co-workers know how to get under my skin by calling it "Forrest Green".....

At least you’re not sneaking a few bids on this, you’d probably be sleeping in it.

Lol a black '97 850ci was my very first BMW... I've had 4 eight series now, and am a member of the E31 BMWCCA chapter. E31s and MINIs are the only two cars I receive BaT alerts on! Definitely saw that one, but black represents 41% of all 8 series produced, so CSi or not it's a no go! (not to mention the 6 figure pricing).

Went to look at a Jensen back in the day, between Triumphs, when I say it was orange, it was not subtle, it was worse than you could imagine.
A very large group of us all cruised together down to the beaches on weekends. Triumphs, Austin Healys, Sunbeam Alpines, MGs, and a misfit Fiat X1/9 (who we almost lost to a group of bikers when he cut them off) it was quite a crew, and the best of times.

I see where she’s coming from on the 90s flashback. Remember when every Ford Explorer, Jeep, BMW 3-Series, etc was “that 90s green” — kind of a green/turquoise? The Mini BRG isn’t the true classic solid BRG color...it’s got a bit of the turquoise in it.

Give her credit for saying that she knows that it’s a cool car! I guess you will miss her.

I’ll admit that the original old school BRG can look quite boring, but I’ll rock an XKE with that color any day.

My previous two cars were green but the MINI BRG was too dark for my taste so I went with Dark Silver on my 2002 MCS.

1967 Almond Green / Old English White Austin Cooper S (stolen August 1972)

1973 Taiga BMW 2002tii (sold September 2002)

🤦‍♂️

Another Garage/Trailer queen...🥱

I hope the someone buys it ... drives it everyday to the grocery store, track and work!

For someone that kept a car, unused for So long, evidently as an “investment” ... at a current-dollar cost, when new of $41,000... let’s see if there is really any ‘collector value’ that will provide any ROI for the Seller ... and to the buyer with purchase price, auction premium, transport and necessary maint on a 15 year old car.

It was purchased new for about the same
cost a s a GP3 today.. so if someone wanted a nice GP1 experience ... and to drive it ... this
one will be a fair price in comparison I’m sure.

In 2 years ... I’ll wager that there will be some nice GP3’s to be had in the $30,000’s ... In 2036 ... I’m sure it will be worth nearly it’s purchase value or maybe a bit more... if pristine and low miles ... if we can still buy gasoline 😏

Will it double in value from original cost..$82,000 ???
..not considering the opportunity cost of the money invested ... time will tell ... but I see that as a ‘stretch’ with such high production numbers of the GP1 series.

😆

Garage queen? It was driven hard one half mile per month lol. I believe selling now for close to original purchase price is heading in the right direction, hard to see how long it takes to move north of that. It’s obviously a slow process.
