The 2005 was also a mid-cycle refresh so it got a bunch of tweaks to fix prior year issues and along with the 2006 was the most desirable of the R53 line. Better trans and gearing, lots of little parts updated to last longer, etc.
The Good:
Fresh Bilstein OEM style shocks
Fresh serpentine belt
Fresh inner ball joints
Freshish engine mounts
Freshish coil/wires/plugs
Good heat/AC
Fresh rear O2 sensor
Fresh engine oil/trans oil fluid change
OEM Arm rest extension
Phone charger cable added with holder on dash
Everything works as intended including the front diff
Mods:
15% pulley
M7 Intake
Aftermarket camshaft
Aftermarket one piece crank pulley
M7 strut bar (with shock tower reinforcement plates)
Urethane control arm bushings and lower engine mount
Big rear bar (set on soft)
Aftermarket 17x7 wheels
Schroth quick disconnect harness
Spare front brake rotors with Carbotech XP10 pads
Aftermarket coolant reservoir
One Ball muffler mod
Fixed camber plates for about -1.3 to -1.5 degrees camber in front.
The Bad:
Has a small exhaust leak toward the muffler that I've patched, but isn't perfect
Has an oil leak (likely from the crank sensor o-ring) but not enough to worry about
Has a dent in the passenger rear quarter panel
No tune and stock injectors so if you're really ragging on it you'd want to short shift at 6k
When I installed the new shocks I forgot to put the rubber spring damper piece in the back so you get a "POP" on really tight hard corners as the spring shifts.
It has take off tires from an SSC car with not a ton of tread left.
It's a fun car to drive, and I've put 20k miles on it since I bought it in 2017. Always had synthetic 5w-40, and the only time it gave me trouble was when I did a time trial in it and broke the stock two piece crank pulley. Otherwise it's been great. Only reason I'm selling is I just finished rebuilding another car to daily and don't need two daily drivers.
I've washed, vacuumed, and stored the car until sale. Can provide additional pictures as needed. Car has no rust either and as far as I can tell has always been a southern car.
Asking $5,250. Located in Columbia, SC and can meet within reasonable distance. Can deliver for a reasonable mileage fee as well.
