MTH V7 (aka Flat Spot Fix)

What this means is that you need to get in contact with the person you purchased MTH through so they can get you an updated version.

Thanks a lot Tradiuz for the info!

I just sent my stuff back to Volker and I really hope it will get rid of those flat spots. Without these flat spots across the RPM (especially between 3000 and 4500rpm on my car), MTH Tuner would be a flawless software IMO

Looking foward to upload the new file soon!

VT7 is not only for flat spot fixing but also adds a few more horses (but nothing to go crazy about it ) .

Me too... Can't wait to get mine back... Hopefully it will gives more low end torque than the previous tuner file (The old tuner file does improve the low end torque, but still... Can't compare with car like VW 1.8T).

:impatient So excite about it!

This morning, I had a great surprise!

My Tuner V7 file has arrived this night! But I'll have to wait until this weekend to upload it...

So, just to let people know that Tuner Version 7 files are out, so if anyone wants to share their comments after trying it, make me jaleous! lol

Thanks again Volker, Franz and all other MTH people.

got my file today loaded it and OMG it is brilliant

cant wipe the smile from my face,
the flatspot is totally gone not a trace of hesitation just loads of power and torque,
I really missed it,
it makes such a difference to my car it doesn't struggle to accelerate it just accelerates and accelerates,
Franz and Volker have done it,
and I love it.
Thanks Guys

I think that with time, I got used to the flat spot... but driving without it will be so much fun!

Here's a crime....

I too was all exited. I wipped out my Mono-USB cable, and had issues uploading (I have some stuff to sort out with the driver) so I broke out my old tank of a laptop with the serial port, went in, and uploaded an older map! By now I was late for work, and I spent my whole drive wondering what it would have felt like if I hadn't screwed up.....

Hi matt,

You wanted to upload your new Tuner file, and couldn't get it to upoad successfully, so you upload an older MTH file...?

that's pretty weird...!

I haven't worked out MONO-USB drivers on one of my laptops. That's what had issues uploading.
The computer that has the serial port, didn't have the right file on it to upload, and in my haste, I didn't notice that.
I have the tuner file installed now, and flat spot issues are gone. But I didn't have time to do any before/after G-Tech runs.... That's this Saturday.....

Hi all:

I did receive my file today morning, I then uploaded it immediately before I go to work. While drive to work (around 15KM driving) there is always a bit of traffic, that is why I cannot really tell the different with this latest tuner file...

Then after work, I finally have a chance to test it since I finish work late (not much traffic). The first thing I tried was launch my car with WOT... Wow... What a different! And now I finally understand what does that "Flat Spot" means... The RPM runs much more smooth than before, it jump froms 1K RPM all the way to 7K RPM without any lag at all! Very impressive!

Then the second impression is, my car used to have that "yo-Yo" problem while I hold the thottle at around 3K RPM (especially 2nd gear), and the problem seems to be fixed already.

Then when I get on the highway, I shift to 3rd, then WOT.... Oh man... Now my speedo's needle seems to run as fast as the RPM needle... It could be my illusion, but I absolutly can tell the speedo needle moves up way faster compare with the older file...

Too bad that I already had my winter tires on, if not, I could test the new file with my Beltronic FX1 (GTech type of detector...). Now I am confident my car can make better times... But I need to wait until next year though...

I cannot describ how much I love the new MTH file, but it is definitly an impressive upgrade. Thanks a lot Frank and Volker, also DarkCooperS by letting me use his cable. (lol, and he will upload his file tomorrow) to all of you.

I don't know much about MTH but have heard a lot of people talk about it. How good is the software upgrade? How does it compare to the Unichip.
