Yes, that's the concept. "Built not bought." It's a pretty common notion on many car/truck enthusiast forums. Anyone can order factory options or have a garage install some bolt-ons for them....some people just find value in creating something themselves and putting the hard work into reaching their goals.
It does have some truth behind it. A lot of the fun in custom modifications is the planning and execution of the project....not just the final outcome. It would be much more fun to be building a box rather than just pressing 'bid now' and sending some paypal funds.

A possible upgrade for your emergency pull... a bowden cable! When putting together my air horn (co2 horn, actually) setup, I bought a bowden cable from an aircraft supply... a nice t-handle pull that looks very industrial. It curves nicely where you need it to and looks sharp.
Nice work on the new wall. I remember watching one of the older threads and just caught up. I was happy to see that you stepped back and reworked. That's a huge thing to drop out all that work and start over... it takes a lot of determination and must have been a tough decision, but I applaud the effort.
Good luck! I'm looking forward to seeing the final result.

A pic of the business end of the bowden cable setup:
It runs down from there into the exhaust channel, where it runs back to where the driver's side muffler would be if I hadn't put in the Alta one-ball exhaust. Now I've got an airhorn back there. You can see the business end of the bowden cable, coming in from the anodized blue circle clamp fitting. It attaches to a valve that runs CO2 to the horn when you pull the t-handle.
I'm sure you could run a similar cable from the back end of the wall and attach it to the same place as your speaker wire setup.

PS: My favorite mods are those that are full custom. Even the little ones make me smile every time I see 'em because I know that nobody else is running that setup.
I love to see the good craftsmanship of others but, like you, I don't think that I'd enjoy owning my MINI nearly as much if I had simply bought it off the lot in the current configuration.

i may upgrade it but it would require too much work as the front is already sealed off from the back completely. i forgot to change it to something else than the speaker wire and i permanently glued the box down and just said forget it when i realized i left the speaker wire there

whether I do or not, will not change what has been done. But I am willing to be fair about it. If three people say that it is a good idea to glue everything down in such a way that it cannot be removed prior to the project being finished AND that the speaker wire trunk release will last, then I will never mention it again.
