Replacing the HK Amp & Speakers, Good Idea?

I currently have a working H/K sound system. I was going to put the KDC-X991 in the dash and maybe install new side panel speakers. Would the KFC-1682 be a good choice in sound quality vs the H/K speakers? or should i just keep my h/k speakers? lol.

If you replace the H/K speakers, you really need to remove the H/K amp as well - and then wiring is a challenge, since the speakers are wired to the rear amp position, not the head unit position.

Also, be sure to know that if you change only the head unit, and keep the H/K amp / speakers, you'll need a HKenabler.

Please, if you replace your amp, I would love to buy it from you. I'm looking for a used H/K amp for my 2004 mini cooper s.
