How have you mounted your iPod Touch or iPhone?

....so that it can be easily accessed, viewed horizontally or vertically and is visible (in video mode) for all passengers?

I've been using belkin car cradle in the big cup holder which works fine if
1) i don't want to use the video mode (ie, turn the device horizontal)
2) i don't have a skin on it (with the skin it won't fit the cradle).

I need a new solution which keeps it mounted in similar place for rear seat passenger (ie kids) viewing as this is the best way to have an in car video player for long trips.

thanks

I actually made a cradle for it out of plexiglas, felt and foam rubber. It would actually fit your '05. It slides right under the center console and seats the iPhone horizontally. I'll post pics in the morning. I may also put up some plans for it. It only costs about $10 to build.

Other than that I would suggest maybe one of those Kensington car mounts. The only problem with those would be curves (you do drive a MINI ).

Edit - Here's a link to the Kensington stuff.

IPhone/Ipod Mount

Check out Robin Casady's website as he is now making a cupholer cover from various exotic woods to which you attach a iPhone cradle. Heck, while you are at it you can get a shift **** and eBrake handle made from the same wood. http://www.robincasady.com/ShiftKnobs/index.html

I recently went with a ProClip mount. It can be turned both vertically and horizontally, and it looks great. It's a little more pricey though.
