SIRIUS and Nav

Searched but similar threads don't really answer or are < 2007 cars.

I'm soon to order and trying to decide on NAV and I know all the navigation issues as I have one car with builtin and one with NUVI unit. I think I only have one more NAV question.
When you have NAV and Sirius does radio station information and song titles, etc. show up on the NAV screen? Or is the screen strictly for NAV and audio setup. Do the presets show up on the screen and thus selectable by joystick?

I know I'm not asking too well but I hope you get the idea.

Thanks,

The Screen is for control of all radio, Nav, and computer functions. So yes it does show the Sirius data.

The car service information and Bluetooth phonebook is there as well. Lots of folks seem to think the NAV is overpriced, but I think it brings all the systems together and conveniently places them in the center stack. That and it tells you where you are going. So not bad for the price.

I can do all that with out the NAV and saved $1991.00 buy buying a Nuvi off of ebay for $99.00 including shipping.

Fair point. Different strokes for different folks.

You can do all what?

And when I got my built-in NAV, it didn't cost me $2090.

And yes, you can see the SIRIUS info if you are on the radio screen, but when you have it set to NAV, at least on mine, it just shows what station you are tuned to in the lower left corner. You'd have to go to the radio screen to see title and artist.

Technically, it probably cost more than that when you consider the sales tax added to the $2000. Still, I probably would have added the NAV if I were to configure my car today. My limited understanding of the problems some people have seem like stuff that can be fixed with a software update, and the potential that little screen holds is pretty terrific.

Ah well. I'm cautiously optimistic the combination of USB/Bluetooth, and the next generation of iPhone will give me a suitably elegant solution to Navigating my Mini... Not that getting lost in a Mini is necessarily a bad thing. :D
