New Speakers R56

I'm looking to get some new speakers in my R56, I picked out some Pioneer speakers and want to get them installed this weekend, just doing the 6x9s now as I will be driving from VA to CA next month. I want more bass but don't know if I want an amp also, subs are out of the question right now. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this and what results I could expect as far as more volume and bass with better clarity.

There are more than 30 threads on this subject here. Please do some reading as there are many factor that need to be taken into account like the following

year of manufacture
Which system (base, HiFi, HK)

If it is the base system then changing the 6x9 in the rear will not help as there is very little bass going to those speakers as there is a 100 Hz cut off.

If it is the HiFi system then there are other considerations like if you change them then you have an extra set of tweeters in the rear that you have to deal with as well.

If it is the HK system then again a different set of considerations are necessary.

So i suggest you read the sticky threads about speaker replacement in this section before you just go and do anything.
