Connecting stock radio into AUX of aftermarket replacement

Hi Everyone,

I've been reading through the threads on and off for a couple of weeks now and haven't been able to find an answer to this, so I apologize in advance if it's already posted somewhere and I missed it.

My plan is to replace my 2012 MCS (with H/K) OEM radio with a Pioneer AVH-P8400BH double-DIN receiver and will be hiding the OEM unit behind the speedo like several folks have done. I the chimes speaker, steering wheel control, 40pin cable and Metra dash kit so I think I'm set for the main parts I need, but I would like to connect the OEM unit to the RCA Audio In or the AUX port so I can continue to use the satellite radio. Does anyone know if that's possible and how to do it?

Thanks in advance.

You would need a speaker level to line level converter as the output of the radio in all MINI 2nd Gen systems is "speaker level".

I would suggest that you get the Pioneer Sat unit for the radio you are putting in. Much cleaner install and then your SAT info will be right on the screen of the new radio. And it will sound better.
