I need help with the Nav!
Just got my first Mini, a 2015 2 door S with Nav. I traded in a 2013 BMW and I know the units are similar but I cannot get the unit to display the road I am on or the next turn instructions. If I have the voice turned off, which I prefer, there doesn't seem to be anyway to possibly know when to turn. Can this be possible? The salesman, to be honest, was not very helpful. His product knowledge in this area is zilch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have the heads-up display? Do you have 6" or 8” screen?
I know the turn-by-turn instructions will show in the heads-up display.
The larger NAV display has a split-screen setting. I can't remember what it's for.
The manual for the NAV is in the unit itself. There may be some information on the MINI Motorer's Guide APP, which is finally available in Canada! Let me have a look...

The App says:
1. "Navigation"
2. Enter Destination
3. "Start Guidance" [the checkered flag?]
4. The Route is Shown on the Control Display
...Then the relevant info...
Different views of the route are available during destination guidance:
-Arrow view in the instrument cluster [where you would usually see the engine temp] and on the Control Display.
-Map View
-Arrow view in the Heads-Up Display
...then it says there should be a little checkered flag being displayed. There's a small arrow for the next instruction, a big arrow shows the direction of travel, a street name and it should switch to the intersection display when you approach an intersection. There may or may not be lane information.
It says you can have Arrow View in the split-screen or on the map. Also you can show a list of sections of the route.
So if you go to "Navigation", Map, then the N in a box, the arrow symbol should show the Arrow View.

I highly recommend the App. It's called either MINI Motorer's Guide or MINI Driver's Guide depending on where you are in the world.
The Split Screen instructions start with
1. Switch on Split Screen.
ok...
Move the controller to the right until the split screen is selected.
Press the Controller.
Select the Map View.
-Arrow Display
-Position
To change the scale select the split screen and turn the controller.
There are instructions for showing the traffic, which i understand is the best part of the navigation.
I now wish I had ordered the NAV.

Not sure if you've figured this out by now. But to achieve what you wanted (which is also my setup), enable split screen view then click your controller to the right to activate the right screen. Push the controller to open a list of items you can display on the right screen. Select Arrow display. That's it!
You can have the map view on the left screen then the Arrow display on the right. You might also want to go back to the right screen items list and go all the way down to tick the last two items. Enjoy!

Thanks
I finally figured that out after two weeks of driving myself crazy. The dealership, MINI of Monmouth (NJ) was no help at all. I used to sell cars back in the day when the K car was the big new deal and even then product knowledge was key. I expected more from MINI but I love the car and I'm glad we bought it.
Thanks again for your help!
