Install took 3 hours using the technic asd harness. still burning in new drivers so have not gone past 60% volume.
Having had a jbl ms8 and a audison bit one in the past all I can say is that audiotec fischer have raised the bar in mobile audio quality. Ease of use, setup and install plus made in Germany with a competitive price point in the match and helix lines.
I would love to have the brax nox dsp by audiotech fischer running brax or audiofrog drivers.

Interesting. I watched a couple videos. My iPod is plugged into my Mini using the supplied Y cable (Aux and USB). Is that the way your car is too, or do you just use the 3.5mm Aux input? I get the impression that if you use this thing you won't get to use the USB port which I think brings the song menu to the Mini's screen.

The ms2 connects to your phones aux output and is powered by the 12v outlet.
A great perk for me is that the ms2 is portable, I rent cars frequently and demo highend 45ft touring coaches to clients. after testing my ms2 in many different cars and floorplans of touring coaches I am convinced that a ms2 can give any system better audio reproduction quality.

I bought one for $60 from WoofersEtc.com. I have a 2014 JCW which connects to an older iPod and lets me search songs/playlists using the car's center screen using Mini Connected. So I connected the MS-2 and I had to use the iPod to pick music. Then there are the wires. 3 connections to the MS-2, 2 to the iPod (headphone, usb charging), and one to the Aux input on the car. That's 6 wires and trust me it's a freaking mess It looked worse than behind my home theater system lol. And if there's no power to the lighter jack there's no music either, because the unit runs on that power source. Turn off car, music turns off unless you hit the start button again. It sounded better, but not a LOT better, after all it's an equalizer using the same amp and speakers. I dicked around with my treble and balance and it sounds the same to me now. So I call WoofersEtc.com for a refund. No deal, I'm outside the 30 day return window (I had my wife buy it and give it to me for Christmas). They say they'll give me "discounts" on any other stuff I buy there. So I look and they send you to other links for everything they sell. Like that's gonna work right? So my review of this unit is that it's a little better sounding with a MESS OF WIRES and you cannot control the music selections from the car's screen. And stay away from that website if you have any hopes of a return.

The head unit on all F56 is basically the same. Line level out. So you tap into those wires no mater if you have an HK system or not. In fact if you don't have HK it is easier because Canbus looks for the amp when doing an upgrade and if you have changed it, it will not upgrade. You need to bypass the ASD (noise maker) either mechanically or with Esys. Your new amp will make the car sound like it has a hole in the muffler otherwise. Serch under "defeating asd" I posted some wring diagrams.
Good luck!

I'm a first time Mini owner (2015 2 door S) and feel the need to upgrade my audio system. I've read all of the posts here and most of this is over my head (as well as hell of expensive).
Why is there a need for a DSP? I was thinking I could upgrade the speakers and put a decent amp driving them and roll on. I don't think I want a sub as I value what little cargo space I have.
Thoughts?
