I have an android phone. I used this program on my 2014 MCS and found it to be excellent. It is IMO a great idea. Plan your trip on your phone and later send it to the NAV in the car. In Canada MINI is too cheap to supply the traffic feature but this program helps with that too.
I now have a 2016 MINI and find that the program does not work as well. When it sends an address to the NAV the NAV does not find the address and routes you to something near by....and sometimes not so nearby! Completely useless. I am wondering if anyone else has these problems...also wondering that as the 2016 models have the EVO version of the maps could this make a difference?

 

So Journey Mate does not require the new Mini Connected HD on the car side?

I also have a MCS but from 2012 and always assumed that app would not work there...
