Listen to radio while using Google Maps on iphone
I got a question for you experts.
I was using Google Maps on my iPhone 6 connected to my BASIC audio via the USB and liked the fact that the voice command was heard through the audio while listening to the music stored on my phone. The voice command even slightly muted the music just like the nav system that I have in my MB. Brilliant!
Then I wanted to listen to non-internet radio stations so I pressed the "Radio" button, I got tuned in a local FM station and a song started playing but then the Google Maps went totally silent. No voice command was heard from either the audio system or the phone itself. The map was still working though.
Well, since I switched to the radio on the audio system, I guess the phone was disconnected in the system (while still being hardwired) but I do not understand why the voice command did not start coming out of the phone.
In a situation above, do I need to unplug the iPhone to have the voice command through the speaker of the iphone?
Is there any trick to keep the voice command coming though the audio system while playing the non-internet radio?
Thanks in advance!

I got an advice from someone on the other board about activating "Play as Bluetooth phone call" in Google Maps and it now works while playing the radio and my iPhone is still connected to the system via the BT. The nav voice command comes through the audio speakers along with music and it even mutes the music upon commandd.
Sorry I should have posted this early and closed the thread.

For Apple Maps, I'm a little fuzzy on the exact details, but I think you open up the Settings app and go to Maps and it's in there somewhere though the wording is a little different.

Well, I have that checked, and both Maps and Google maps work regardless of the source of "Entertainment" selected. My problem was that I have the Nav with HK and while the Phone volume was correct, it appears that when you make a call, it mutes the "Entertainment", which makes sense. But I made the call, then tried the Siri activated Nav. All I had to do was hit the same volume control, either on the dash or the Steering wheel WHILE switched to whatever "Entertainment" I wanted to listen to, or even the Nav screen. But if you are making a call at the same time, your iPhone based Nav instructions are muted. I can understand now why this all happens, but at the time, while driving, it was confusing. The Mini system uses the same physical volume controls for everything, but remembers each device independently. Smart, but not intuitive.
I just have to remember to use each car, the 2008 MCCS with built in phone BT and Viseeo Tune2Air BT, and the 2016 MCC with Nav & HK differently.
