Hi,

I seem to be having trouble with the HUD display showing NAV directions/instructions. I know I have the option selected in the NAV settings to display directions on the HUD

I can start new destination and guidance and I can see the arrows in the HUD and sometimes pics of the intersections and such and it seems to be working fine. Then, the arrows just stop appearing in the HUD for some reason.

Anyone had that happen? Am I missing a setting somewhere else maybe?

Thanks for any help. Only had my new Mini for a few days and still getting used to everything. It just seems weird that it would stop displaying in the HUD like that.

 

Going to take a WAG here at your situation. If your 'visible' direction aids disappear in the HUD while you are in SPORTS mode than you have nothing to worry about. In Sports mode you won't see them. But if in the standard or 'GREEN' mode you will provided a destination is selected.

I hope that is your situation and clears up your understanding. Otherwise you need to visit your service dept.

 

OMG THANK YOU !!! I thought I was goin nutso and that's what's happening. I couldn't find any info in the owners manual to explain the NAV settings. (btw is there a separate manual just for the NAV?)

I knew that only because I read it somewhere. I think it may have been in the built 'in' owners manual you select from the display itself. I've owned quite a few new cars with their 'new' toys over the last few years and haven't found much in the logic that different manufacturer's share other than they all claim to have the best. Very debatable. I think my over-all best NAV experience so far was in my 2014 'Vette Z51. It even showed terrain changes (mountains, hills, etc) along with weather such as clear sky, cloudy, rain drops or even lightning bolts . Of course after the 1st year, you had to subscribe for it through Sirius/XM.
