I think I'm ready to tackle a self-install of the XM Direct receiver and Blitzsafe interface in my 2004 MC, despite my comical lack of mechanical sophistication. Thanks for all the great inspiration, tips, and how-to's from this forum!

I have one lingering concern before I send off for the equpiment: Has anyone successfully installed the satellite antenna behind the FM antenna, on a car with a spoiler? The roof is just a wee bit shorter than "normal," and I wonder if there is enough room for that XM antenna to find a home.

All input greatly appreciated.

I did on my '03 MC- spoiler and all.
No pics though, and I won't be able to for the next few days 'cause I'll be on the road. (Chicago to L.A.)

 

Here is a picture of my install, it works great.

 

Search around, one of the early threads on the XM direct has a picture with the boot lid up. At any rate it does work with about 1/4" clearance if you use the antenna that comes with the XMDirect kit and place it right up against the base of the stock antenna. I have one.
