yeah, unfortunatley, i need the adapters.

ive got to exchange my blown 5 1/2s for some new 6 1/2's at CC today, so i'll see what those sound like, hopefully they will be able to go to a lower range than my 5 1/2s will now...

ok i found a set, but it seems they are either discontinued or they no longer carry them anywhere.

Blaupunkt Overdrive series 694's are dual voice coil 6x9's, apparently, the only commercially avaliable set!

any know where i can get a set??? any audio dealers in here check their inventory for me????

I would not recommend putting any 6.5" bass driver in the door. The JL 6.5 is made for low bass. Three of these in the trunk will produce amazing results. They make a great addition to any factory stereo. What you have in the door is really a mid bass driver. It's not meant to go nearly as low as the JL will. If you can find them JL makes a set of seperate three way compoments. Kind of pricey though. If you did decide to put the 6w0 in the door you might be able to find a 2 ohm version, but the factory amp would not be up to the challenge of powering it. Not only that, but you would want the tuning capability of using an aftermarket amp/headunit setup. My first recomendation to anyone looking to upgrade an already decent factory stereo was to add subs to the existing setup. That will allow you to lower the amount of bass going to factory speakers and let them concentrate on mids and highs. As far as the Audiobahn HU goes, just like anything else, you get what you pay for. Best relatively low budget set up I've heard was an Eclipse HU powering factory Monsoon in a GTI combined with a slot ported JL10W3. Sorry for the wordy post. Good luck.

so u dont like Audiobahn?

as far as adding subs go, would u need a cross-over to manage or will an inline buffer &/or filter work? to keep Mids & highs happy........
