I had my 04 MCS in for service and when returned the radio sounded different. Did not seem as Crisp, and I found when going through menu it displayed " mini h/k " and this never displayed before. The dispay no longer showed " electronic" as a choice. Does this seem possible? Only service done was oil change. Any info if someone can steer me in the right direction. THANKS in advance

 

There is no difference in the headunit with HK and Non-HK. The difference is that if you have HK, some features on the radio are enabled and others disabled. the mini H/K setting is normal setting for us h/k folks, but you should have the electronic setting as well. It could be that they performed a system rest and possibly reset all of your settings. I would say that you need to carefully look and if it isn't there, then you might try the battery disconnect and see if you can get it back.

 

Press the music note until you get to "mini h/k" then turn the volume **** until you get to "electronic", the press "exit". These are eq presests with various speaker and reverb adjustments.

The "mini h/k" setting is the best-sounding DSP setting anyway, IMO.
